That's because it's raw footage, no software can encode the video while storing it in your hard drive directly from what you're seeing in your screen. You need to edit if after with software like vegas, virtualdub, after effects or whatever to reduce the size.
So yeah, use fraps. |

Fraps cost money ther is a free way:
You will need 2 programs http://hmelyoff.lgg.ru/download/VHSC1_5_inst.exe http://www.hmelyoff.com/download/AMCap.exe Start up Amcap and go to video filter and select vhscrcap and either use region or select the window you want to record. You can optionally select framerate and whether you want to resize the capture. Make sure you set the same framerate in vhscrcap and Amcap. Go ahead and start up Aion then go back to Amcap and start capture. It will ask you where you want to save the file and a filesize which doesnt really do anything. Click ok when the windows pops up and go back into Aion and it will record everything. I found that resizing the video to 1024 x 576 works best for me but ymmv. There is actually a newer version of amcap which can compress the video output onthefly but I could not get it to record the whole screen only a portion of it. Recording to divx on the newer version didnt cause any lag at all and worked really well. Too bad doesnt work right for me. |
