First Nehalem X58 Board Revealed

Intel’s first Nehalem mobo is X58 - Expreview.com

We're getting closer =P...This socket platform is dubbed Bloomfield (LGA 1366). Bloomfield will be the high end solutions for Nehalem...You can also note the three blue ram slots considering Nehalem will be Triple channel based. So expect to see 3x1 gb kits =P. Of course this is just intels ES board ^_^.

Absolutely, the first Bloomfield socket will be the highend, expect Extreme edition Nehalem processors in late Q3 or Q4, with the mainstream solutions based on a different socket (yes, different sockets =(...one high end and one mainstream, as well as a MP socket design). The boards still have a northbridge, but they are VERY MUCH simplified considering the new QPI interface and IMC (Integrated memory controller).

Come on 6 DIMMs and 12GB of RAM mobos. /drool.

Definitely a project for 2010ish when mainstream hits the shelfs and the architecture's Beta is over.

looks sweet. I'm only gonna build my new system once Aion's US/EU release date is announced. So this board should be pretty much solified and tested by the time that happens (which is probably Q1/Q2 2009)

looks damn sweet indeed. already got 1500 smackarooonies put aside but I'm not gonna rush. get the best I can as close to release as I can
