Not recommended for gamers unless you have true GPU power, otherwise you would be bottlenecking the i7, I wouldn't buy an i7 unless I had a 4780x2 at least.
On non GPU dependant activities such as adobe arsenal and daily common activities i7 means awesomeness tho. Interesting also how the 280 GTX in sli is now less CPU bound with the i7, that setup might be quite interesting for some price/performance value, cause you actually gain massive FPS's there. Dunno how MMORPGs work sincerely, wish I could find reviews like these in massive pvp enviroments to help me decide. Anyways, the prices are sweet, just by getting an i7 920 and spending a bit more on the GPU setup, we can see massive improvements. x58 is still expensive tho, si is DDR3 :< lets pray for affordable prices these christmas ^^ I'll wait for more reviews, would love to see the differences between a Q9550-4870x2 and a 920/940 on the same card. Not true, just not like you are used to. But clock for clock these chips smoke anything we've seen before. All the benchs I have seen it seems Intel has gotten rid of the CPU bottleneck until new graphics cards come out at any rate.

Catch up? They are still behind the core 2s and have fallen even farther back.

I certainly hope they at least start to move the second or third derivatives toward the positive or that is where we'll end up. |

I don't disagree but unless Intel begins to rest on their laurels or has some major screw up AMD will need to pull out of its semiconductor a$$ one hell of a cheap CPU.
