Pvp Templars taunting other players to attack u.
Will anyone know if in pvp it will be possible to force other players to attack the Templar with taunts. It sounds like a good idea to me atleast. Templar and Cleric rolling around together and an higher lvl assassin pops out to try and quickly take down the cleric and the templar uses a taunt to make the assassin loose control of who he wants to attack forcing him to do minimal damage to the templar for say 15 seconds allowing the cleric to heal and perhaps that taunt cud have a timer of say 45 seconds until its available again. That wud certainly make the templar very useful and the absorbing of someone elses damage in pvp wud b grt also.
So taunt a specific player to attack and Take a friendly players damage. The templar has best melee damage abosrption and second best magical damage absorption so it wud b awesome! |

Taking another players damage some how would be great but forcing a player to perform an action against their will would not.

I guess people are concerned with the viability of tanks in PvP, due to their lack of damage. However, I'm thinking more of something like a Aura, or Blessing (Blessing of Sacrifce from WoW) that will constantly absorb a percentage of the damage taken on another player(s) in range, or a buff that will absorb a fixed amount of damage (Power Word; Shield from WoW).

hmm. Ok that sounds better. Take the damage from an oppenent especially when its about to get the finishing blow dealt so that wud b grt. And taking a % of your groups damage constantly is good too. That wud b incredible in pve also.

Something like they rush over and partially block the attack with their shield.

Sounds like the warrior skill 'Intervene' from WoW. Required a shield, and the warrior would rush to the selected target and completely absorb the attack on the player. I think the cooldown was 30 seconds, but personally I don't think something similar in Aion would be overpowered in any way. A lot of damage can be dealt during those 30 seconds, and one or two negated attacks sounds like a reasonable way to increase 'tank' viability in PvP.

FFXI had this feature, provoke (taunt) would force all the damage coming from that player to the one who used provoke. You could target whoever you wanted, move where ever you wanted, but any spell or attack you used it would redirect to the warrior (provoke was a warrior skill) that provoked you, I can't remember how long the effect lasted though, but it wasn't all that long. It wasn't over powered, it just gave more options in group pvp.
I wouldn't mind if something like this exsisted in Aion, its the same as an absorbing damage skill others have suggested. I think this is what the OP meant, just worded it wrong.

If you use hate on a player in L2, it changes their target to the tank, depending on the level of the skill and the opposing player's resistence. If you get two sucessful hate spells off, then the player will auto attack you unless the player manually reassigns an action.
VERY USEFUL in PvP For a tank. |

I heard one example which was when a templar taunts someone they deal like 30% less damage to everyone but the templar who taunted him. That way it has some incentive to attack the templar instead of your healer, or if they do go for the healer they wont be owning him up as bad.

Or, they could get a reflect spell, where they cast it on a party member, and all damage done to that player for the next ## seconds is transferred to the templar. Or something. ):

I would like to see the revamped skill list.
