Templar vs. Assassin

ive been watching alot of assassin videos on youtube and other site, and when a assassin fights a templar knight or a gladiator, the assassin always win for some reason, and to be honest thats a real downer. are assassin just better than knights in 1v1 or are they just sneaky little rats.

Haha well it's hard to tell really. It could be just that the Templar isn't as great of a player as the Assassin, and that the Templar class is actually better in PvP against an Assassin. It could also be the other way around, but we can't really tell until it localizes and we get our chance to see for ourselves. From the way it looks though, it looks to be pretty balanced, so it'll really depend on the strategy and skill of each player

In every MMO classes have someone they can beat, and someone they will lose to.. like mages to rangers, or priests to warriors. But like Sabre said, you've got to take player-skill in to consideration.
Basically, it's far too early to judge mate, so don't let it get you down!

If it'll make you sleep better at night. When the game comes out Templars will be able to solo every Mega Boss in the game.

That's because Templars aren't meant to win 1vs1, they are meant to last standing and protecting until a DD kill the enemy. They last a lot in 1vs1, but their damage output is not that much to win in front of a DD, but they're pretty decent imo.

I don't know what videos you've seen (and you should concern ONLY about CBT3 videos), but Templars give a hard fight, almost even with Glad:

I wouldn't say they aren't supposed to win 1v1, in fact they've already stated that Templar will be an unusual "tank type" that is able to solo and PvP quite well in comparison to other games.

when u mean solo pvp u mean actually beat some one like a glad or assassin at there own game, and if that's true then im am so gonna own ppl. >.<

Assassins are generally one of the best for 1v1 due to their stuns, and they seem quite hard to follow when they're running/warping around someone. In group PvP situations they usually die pretty quick.

We'll see how it turns out though. I've noticed in the recent MMOs I've played, the "tank" class is becoming more and more independent and I hope Aion will be no different. In a couple games, they've been effective in 1v1 because they simply outlast their opponent with the high HP and high defense. Their decent damage output slowly takes them down and they simply win a marathon. Of course, an Assassin or a Ranger or Sorcerer, who's meant to deliver a high amount of damage in a low amount of time may be trouble

I just don't understand why people still worry about 1v1, it's most unlikely you'll ever fight 1v1.

Uhh, there will be a lot of Duels..lots of both, but that's what everyone does who is bored/doesn't roll with a Legion

Im Starting to think that templar knights have the most potential, Hp And dp but moderate damage making them a %!$& to fight in a 1v1 plus they have a few stuns i hope and what im looking for is the ability to heal ourselfs. If we are able to heal ourselves pretty good Im gonna have some orgys with my knight.
