[Guide] How to solo Sulphur Fort Instance ;D

Just tried this at 30. I believe you've got to be at least 35 or close to it for this to work. 15 min of bashing and not a single proc of higher dmg using both Shining and Divine Slashes.

I think the quality of weapon is a factor I used a 34 green 2 hander and DS 2 (To cheap to buy 3 atm)

I'm going to try this as soon as we get Sulfur back. How can Rangers solo this? My wife is a Ranger and I'd like to show her how.

since lvl 33, i solo it as ranger and NEVER failed

Did they fix this? I'm a level 37 Templar with Hannets Greatsword, both Divine Slash and Shining Slash hits for 1 all the time. =/

her 'stunning shot' ability should sometimes do bonus damage on the box too, so she just has to suicide ontop of the box, res herself and go to town on it.

nope. its pretty random though. you can get like 20 hits in a row hit for 1 damage, then suddenly hit for 1k crit or something

It says "random damage" and it does just that. It's the same as running Kromede 50 times to get nothing and then watching your friend's party rolling on gold in 3 consecutive runs.

This only work for sulfur? What about some of the higher level fortress instances?

You need to have a good sword, good attack, and the highest level Divine Slash you can.

I'm using a Noble Bloody Flame Great sword and hit for 360-380 when it would "random."

You'll know pretty quickly if you can do it or not. The random damage is actually very consistent at a certain dmg rate. My shining slash always hit for 40, my Divine Slash always hit for 367 unless I had Rage on, then it was 380.

i've done divine slash on the prisons in lepharist citadel (elyos) and 1 shot them before. its part of the random physical damage mechanic. the boxes aren't equipped to handle the hidden critical part of the move, and thus you can hit for the extra damage that part of the skill would have applied.

for those that dont' know how random physical damage - type skills work, it calculates damage similarly to this:
*attack mob*
base damage
chanceA: add XXX damage to attack, yes/no?
chanceB: apply critical hit damage modifier, yes/no?

natural crit chance: apply critical hit damage modifier, yes/yes/no/no/no? (2/5 ~~ 40%, about what most people aim for)
apply damage

atm i get to about 2500 highest damage with divine slash III :3 lv 41, no +attack bonus gear, kromede's greatsword.

HI all

Just going to provide what I have:

Tried it for at least 6times at lv 39 with Divine Slashing II and Hannet's GW, never made enough damage do open the box

I am almost 80% pretty sure that you will have to be over lv 40 with Divine Slashing III and maybe even a decent great sword, this is just a guess, was anyone able to open the box before lv 40 solo?

I attempted this for the first time yesterday at level 36. I was doing good and had it down to half at about the 8min mark when my comp decided to do auto update and restart on me so I was not able to do it but if i had the rest of the time i have no doubt i could of opened it.

Couple questions for you guys who say you can't pull it off. Are you using your 1hander when Divine slash is on CD. Faster attack speed = more dmg. Also pop some attack speed scrolls.

nikooo, may I ask what's your crit rating and "highscore" with DSII ?
