Templar Reroll questions
Was a prot warrior in wow and main tank for my guild. I am quite skilled at leading a raid/group (watching out for everything) ect that tanks need. I was going to make transition over to templar and had few questions.
Should the transition between tanking classes of the two games be smooth or bumby? I heard temp leveling was bad, does that mean it is very slow or that you take alot of dmg and have a lot of down time, etc. Just started bout to hit ascension wanted to stop in and find out about this stuff. Thanks |

so... need a lot of pain tolerance to level temp? so what would you suggest oxycodone or just straight morphine drip.
Kidding aside does using GS help lvling go faster and also are any crafts worth taking while leveling. |

Armorsmithing fits the class perfectly, of course. But Alchemy is a big, big, biiiiig bonus. Your own potions = no downtime. Honestly.
And about the whole GS thing.. I'd call it "not worth it". With Auto Attack Weaving, you'll never run out of skills after 25+. __________________ Haikus are easy But sometimes they don't make sense Refrigerator |

Same ^^^
I am maxed out in crit (meaning all sockets have crit not at 440 cap), I have lil to no down time. I time my emp armor with my herb healing and need no pots takes about 11-18 seconds to kill a mob (depending on crits at this level I am at 28% crit chance or so) and that is me killing same level mobs as me or 1-2 levels higher with 2 dots, I use a great sword and at 30 you get divine slash and I really love hitting crits for 1500+ with it and even the white damage is around 600-800 pretty steady on a 30 second cool down. (dinvine slash is a stigma you can use at 28 but I waited till 30 to start using it and i love it for solo) Are we slower than some classes yes we are we can't solo leets because we can't kite like sm's, rngs, clerics, sorc but it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Some whine about everything slow levling **** at pvp.
Ok im only 28 but as a former wow and gw player i would say yes it is harder to levl here than in wow. on the otherhand is has not so much to do with the class as all have problems in certain aspect of ther levl gaps due to end game balancing. If i wanted to i could be 30+ but i dont see the need to rush things as of now im levling faster than my gathering. Running around not knowing its the pain and fun of a new game and the 1st charr in that game. My exp with my Templar (main) is that its a bit slow until u get emryrean armor(lev 13) then with pots should = no downtime. then suddenly you are lev 19 and stuck with very few quest so its grind grind grind. as of 22 its not that bad to grind as it gives you something to grind for Fire Sword - - Aion that will turn into Fire Sword - - Aion and at lev 32 it will by quest update to Inferno - - Aion well if you are elyos ofc. At lev 25 it is in to NTC instance and the abyss and u get about half a levl pr run(run has a 14-18 hour cooldown) then eat, work sleep etc. and then at 29 it is FT. (this is what my txt says 90 % of my game time LF templar for FT).Ok later instances according to my legion does not yeild the same xp as NTC so questing and grinding is a must but hten there are lots do do for xp. So take it easy and dont rush from 10-20 and have the krall quest done at 20-21 so you can go and grind dried gnarls and mottled basillisk at once so you are not grinding mobs that only has worl drop chance of 0,00001 % |

Choose what you grind on carefully. Fighting pure melee mobs is great I often can kill things a few levels above me with little issue. While killing a caster will just utterly destroy my health even a level or so below me. Very fun killing level 39/40 trees at 36, my sorc friend was unable to kill them and forced to grind on lower level mobs.

Rolled a Temp from Assassin due to a huge shortage of tanks, and I can tell you honestly, in comparison, Templar has very little down time. The kills are slow but constant, where as on the Assassin they were quick with a lot of down time, my progress in levels has been thus far about twice as fast.

Interesting... 25-29 went really fast for me since I tanked NTC everyday. The only time I seriously wanted to reroll was 30-34. My gear didn't suck although I wasn't running in gold gear, heck I was wearing similar quality of gear as I am now. However the grind was really horrible for me. Now at 36-37 I am feeling a whole lot better at grinding all of a sudden. So it's probably just certain levels you have to tough it out.
Edit: If you're a reroll you should have lots of cash. So it probably won't be that bad at all if you can twink your toon. |
