Plate vs. Mail

So I was looking through the skills on the database... am I correct in making the assumption that only the Warriors gain access to Mail/Plate? If so, does anyone yet know the advantages of one compared to another?

Warriors are the only ones who get plate

Clerics/Chanters get mail

I thought so, but I never saw a proficiency skill for it for either of them. >.< Thanks.

Priests start out with cloth and leather and gain proficiency with chain at ascenscion. Pretty much the same way warriors get proficiency with plate at ascension.

ascension lets warriors use plate. healers use mail at ascension. same reason warriors can't use 2h'ers before ascension.

Well originally it's been called just mail (historically speaking).

But I guess it's also can be called chainmail so both are correct, although chain would be less so!

Mail is a class of armor. Chain mail is a type of armor. There is also Scale mail, Banded mail and Ring mail to name a few. Mail armor is armor made of peaces of metal. Chain mail is actually metal rings linked together. There are even sub classes of Chain mail. Did you never play Dungeons and Dragons?

I see only problem here. :P We don't have scale or branded, or ring mail in Aion. If only!
