Spiritmaster or Gladiator?

Not sure if this should be in a different topic, but in your opinions would gladiator or spiritmaster be a better decision at end or near to end game? try include details on why. Thanks

Melee DPS
Singletarget & Aoe
Good cc/debuffs (stun, root, snare)
high armor
front line class
"low" combat issues in flight mode

SM :
Range DPS
Awesome distance cc (fear "spamm" >.< ?)
low armor
need to control a pet PLUS your SM at the same time !! <= important
magic debuffs, silence
back line class
pets don't fly with you
low aoe capabilities, you need to tab dot ...

Many more but this could be enough.

Many more but this could be enough.

Kinda forgot to mention SM has quite higher DPS nd DoT, sort of replica of WOWs Lock, so makes up for the AOE

Not sure about this point, reading Zumbaro's guide and the SM section seems like it has some consistent dps on par with other hybrid classes.

Gladiator : Is a warrior
Wears plate armor
Smacks things in the face with his massive pole

SM: Summons pets
Wears a skirt
Smacks massive poles with his fac.. i mean... has some good aoe debuffs.



Obviously you don't decide to become a warrior, its a calling, not a choice.

on the sm side we have huuuge dot damage haha
over time our dps exceeds most other classes
but we have a low burst damage
you have to know how to kite especially for pvp
true pets cant fly but u can still spam your dots and servernts
pets have a unique spell set including stun, crash, shields, recovery attacks more DoT spells etc etc

Ok about kiting i was told there are movement restriction on Aion like with Cabal? please tell me its a mistake.

As in any game a good (insert class here) will beat a bad (insert class here). Don't try looking for the #1 OMG best class and pick what fits your style. Research the classes and decide if you like standing in the front or the back.

Aren't they patching in the ability for sm's pets to fly with the sm? I was torn between Glad and SM for a while but eventually went with Glad. I'll have a SM alt for farming though, for sure.

I say a spirit master would be better than a gladiator :S (given that spirit master knows how to utilize his/her pets)

SM's are down right scary to pvp, I try to avoid them at all cost if I can. (I was playing Glad, chanter, Temp, and it did not matter).
