Gladiator. I'd rather go for more offensive fighting than Defensive. At least I'm pretty sure that's how it works, as people have said the Templars have the defensive buffs. <_<

I'm torn between the two. I love doing massive damage. Seeing those big numbers is just so satisfying. On the other hand, I like having a lot of defense and HP. Both sub-classes look awesome too. D:

I've played tank, and found it frustrating relying on the mages.
I've played a mage in FFXI, and found it frustrating, watching tanks get one shotted. So now I'm choosing Gladiator, I want to unleash anger the good old fashioned way. Gladiator sounds like it'll build character, and I want to play my character with Feeling! Passion! "RRRRRAAAAAAHHHH!" factor. |

I'm going with the Templar. I think I'm going to grow bored with the Gladiators slow attacks... Templar seems much more fast paced and exciting.
PvP on the other hand I'd create a Gladiator for. |

As for me Im going Templar. I wouldnt say Templar is for tank only cause im pretty sure I can own probably anyone but I think everything is in the items and stigmas to be able to own Gladiator. Im sure I can kill gladiators ^^ while in the other hand gladiators are not sure to be able to kill me ^^ you guys deal me?

The people saying that gladiator is for pvp and templar for tanking, you are wrong, templar has tons of pvp skills and utility, while gladiator just has damage and its easy to disable. Also there will be overpopulation of assassins and they can't really gank a templar.

from what ive read, gladiators are kind of the confused teenage homosexual of aion... they are not sure if they are dps or if they are a tank. i would say if you plan on dpsing go a more clear cut route like assasin but then agein its ur choice
templars on the other hand are th eonly tanks really so they will always be in demand |

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this because I don't feel like reading 11 pages of comments, some being useful and most being... not so useful. Tanks are tanks of course. If you're one to live by the code of honor and wish to protect those you care about (or just want in groups easily and don't wanna be a healer) then become a Templar. Templars have a skill that brings either one or multiple mob(s)/PC(s) to them and gain aggro/target. That's an awesome skill for any tank but if you have the gall to use that in PvP or advanced dungeons/raids you'll have to have a lot of defense at the cost of offense meaning you will not be a major DD.
What I don't believe anyone has mentioned is that what makes Gladi's so awesome is the simple fact that they can do melee (physical) AoE damage. The videos on the net prove that in PvP and PvE. I did see someone say that Gladi's are a slow class and they would definitely be wrong. The beginning warriors seem a bit slow (judging from youtube vids, every starts out uber slow n stuff) but as you advance, you become much faster and also have ranged attacks. The down side is that you sacrifice a Templar's def. for atk. You're also a good target for strong magic casters to take you out because Gladi's aren't known for having very much M.Def. I personally will sign up to be a Gladi. I love playing a up-close and personal DD class. If I was a practical player, I'd be an archer class and deal ridiculous amounts of damage from afar and watch the criticals murder sorcs, clerics, and chanters. Ranger is perfect DD. You don't deal much dmg to tanks but then again, they can't catch you anyway (at least they couldn't in Lineage2, but then again this isn't L2... *shrug*). I just find them to be a coward-like class so I want to be a heavy plate armored gladi. Not saying anyone that goes Ranger is a coward, but the archer is just built that way for long range attacks and such. Kiting ftw. __________________ Bliss is that in itself.
