Templar, because you need a tank for instances. Tanks are always in short supply, unappreciated but are the most interesting people to talk to. They get around, seen many faces, and get the full gaming experience.

you have a point Lacana. That just might sway my decision. Tanks do get around... just like my x-gf.

Gladiator, having a humongous lance and being able to dish out the damage without dropping like a fly is definitely my playing style.

Although sacrificing defense for the extra P-atk is a bit meh, it's not like you can't take a good hit or two.

Gladiator cause I prefer dmg than def.I was a tank in L2 and leveled up reaaaaly slow.Can glads hit multiple enemies with 2h weapons??

I like to protect people, and healers feel too weak for me, plus I like a nice strong sword. I like being tough to kill. Tank classes with a couple buff and healing skills suit me best.

templar looks really interesting to me. i am interested in their AoE capabilities because iv seen the pull that they have that pulls all nearby enemies and that looks like an interesting skill. also, from the class intro videos they look like their damage isnt crap like most tanks so they might actually have some solo leveling capability...

After having read around and doing the research....

I wil either choose Gladiators...for reasons like the damage, potential AoE...etc but most of all for their potential in the Abyss and of course they look cool!

or choose templars because of their defense and "favourability" within parties.

couldnt really find the relevant discussion thread...and I know its kinda old news....but just thought this would be a good place to put it.

the glads kinda bein out of "favour" doesnt really sound too appealing.

I'm picking Templar because I've never had a tanking class as a main. I always went the melee/caster DPS route while never fully leveling whatever tank I wanted to do. So this time I will be leveling a tank first and keeping it as my main class.

i am more towards Gladiator but i wouldnt mind being a Templar that pull skill that pulls them all in awsome for a party but then he does have all that agro=/

Gladiators have attractive skills. They're so cool.
Gladiators can use 2H Sword and Dual-Wield (Sword, Dagger, Mace). I really like it.
Gladiators can use Heavy Armor.
Gladiators have range-attack skills (So u can watch the video to know it).

I choose Gladiator - A Damage Dealer.
