always played warrior in every game...tanking seems to be my thing more than anything. so templar w/o a doubt. though if i made a 2nd character it'd be either a gladiator or one of the rogue classes

I'm going to be making a Templar.
Nothing wrong with the gladiator, and I've seen some nice moves pulled off by other players. But I want to be in a strong support role and since there are no other templars and taking the lead for heading into a group of angry belaur doesn't scare me, and my short run with a templar thus far has been enjoyable, I'm planning on sticking with that. |

Little background from WAR - don't hate me ha ha....
When it comes to massive open world pvp I have noticed tank classes are generally in the front pushing the battle lines for there side. With good healers and dps to back them up, the tanks push into the opposition attacking the healers/rang dps ( the damage will not be ignored) and opening gaps for there teammates to dps. I want to be that guy getting heals pushing the front lines and smashing weak opponents. This was always the case all the time for me in War playing tank arc types and my reason for choosing Templar as my main class. |

I will be rolling Templar. I have always preferred to be on the front lines and I like tanking even more. As the tank, I feel I have the most control over group progression and advancement in PVE. I also like the feeling of accomplishment that I get from being such a centric part of the group.
I do not particularly care for PVP, so I am less concerned with Templar performance in the PVP arena. However, seeing as Aion is such a PVP centric title, I have certainly not brushed off researching the Templar's PVP ability. I like what I've seen from the class. Templars are a formidable force and can be a viable pvp player when played correctly. In terms of Gladiators, I don't really care for the class design. AOE damage can be fun on occasion, but it is not really my playstyle. If I wanted to be a DPS class in Aion, I would roll an Assassin because I prefer the focused, single-target damage that they represent. All imo. ![]() |

Played the tank in every other game and will play a Templar in Aion.
I enjoy pushing the front lines and being beefy in general. |

When it really comes down to it, endgame what do you want? Templar will most likely put in you a tanking role, which will put a lot more responsibility on you. If that's not your think, Gladiator will be doing DPS. That is just PvE, though, PvP is completely different.
Templar: Defense > Offense Galdiator: Defense < Offense |

I played a templar up to 26 in the cbt's and unfortunately i am going to choose gladiator strictly because of high leveling speed with my chanter gf and her being a pseudo healer/buffer. There may be group quests and other stuff but when it comes down to it we noticed that grinding for exp was way faster than questing. Also the only way to reach such high damage on my temp was crit stones and they are far and few between or very $. O yeah i don't know how many polearm weapons dropped but it had to be 10 to 1 for every sword or mace we found.
One other thing i keep reading is OMFG templar pwns 1vs1 blah blah blah. I'll tell you one thing i experienced in the abyss. IT WAS NEVER EVER EVER EVER a 1vs1 fight EVER. Maybe when you are uber leet at level 50 and pwn with your super defense it will rock but how long will it take to grind up when everyone pretty much levels quicker? |
