Weapon Sets

About weapon sets; I don't know if this has been answered already, if it is, I just couldn't find it.

I've noticed that the Scout classes, Assassins and Rangers, can have 2 weapon sets. One ranged and one melee, the effectiveness of a weapon set is determined by which class is played. Do the other classes, for example Templars and Gladiators, have the same options, so that Templars can weild a 2 handed weapon aswell as there 1 handed weapon + shield and Vice Versa?

I thought I read something about every class being able to weild any kind of weapon due to stigma, but will it be effective?

If only the Scout classes can weild 2 sorts of weapon sets, wouldn't that be a slight advantage over other classes?

Again, sorry if this has already been brought up, I've read the threads that are similar to my title but I couldn't find any answers.

duel weld:
2 handed:
you might be able to mix it up also like mace / sword. and you will be able to use a bow for range.

I understand that Warriors can weild a 2 handed weapon aswell as dual weapons, but can a Templar do so too? Or the other way around: Can a Gladiator use a shield, effectively?

I was just curious about this because Assassins and Rangers have the same weapon sets, but they're effective in another way to each class, right?

Take for example Gladiators, they will be able to get bow skill at some point but there is no way they are going to be as effective as a hunter. so im guessing (god i hate guessing) it will be the same for other items not really suited for the person's class. So you probably can but how effective it will be we just dont know yet.

Apparently assassins can use 2h weapons as well. Can anyone confirm this? doesn't make much sense to me

as riku said and from having seen this in the aion wiki the gladiator is going to be able to be equiped with a bow but seriously...who is going to create a gladiator and equip him with a bow ? on the other hand it could be somehow effective under special situation.

I've been reading up on Stigmas and it seems that any class can use Stigmas to learn practically anything in the game. I guess this is how the devs are implementing uber customization, since you can learn alot of things from Stigmas. For example: you can have your cleric wearing Plate armor by using Stigmas, there are consequences connected to that however.

Can't wait to test it out and see what combinations fit me best!

what i'm wondering is if a templar can cast def buffs that require a shield then switch weapon to 2H, will the buffs stay or will they disappear.

Interesting, I wouldn't know but my guess is that it depends on how much those skills are bound to shields. I think auras might disappear when swapping, but buffs? Is there any official note about this?

Templars do have skills that require 2H sword so i would have to guess that they do indeed stay active. This is gonna make this class very interesting to play and master. They could be a major force in pvp imo

for that case it would be best if the buffs were actually differentiated, for example equipment buffs and soul/spirit buffs, so that if u use a buff for dmg or def they would be put on your equip and as a result they would disappear after changing ur weapon/armor/shield but mana or hp buffs would still remain

Well Im curious about Gladiator Dual Wield, If the stigma system can make everything possible (at least most of it). What would be the differeces between a Dual Wield Glad, and a Plate wearing Assassin? Both using Dual wield swords, of course.
