Switching from Glad to Temp, is it possible ?
My glad is already 20,so, I don't really want to re-roll, so is there some quest that would make me switch over to a Templar? I like Glad but, I want to be the main tankin groups/raids.

No, if you paid attention you noticed when making the choice Munin says there is no turning back. Making new character only option

I been tanking group mobs 1-2 lvls above me on my glad, all you need is up to date plate armor and strategic use of rage/potions and you're just as good as a templar (If not better since you add more dps :P ).
Sure temps are a bit better at tanking, but I don't think the difference is enough to want me to give up the gladiator play style. Just get a cleric friend thats not a stupid PUG noob. |

Glad tanking is fine, I tanked Fire Temple at 31, with level 37 elites beating on me. However, the templar is very valuable if for one reason only - the pull. Using the pully skill you dictate where the fight takes place. With the rooted golems, that wasn't so much an option for me as a glad, and I had to get more creative.
As far as damage mitigation, I busted out a shield, and after 5 pulls the cleric told me to take out my spear as I was taking too little damage (this was at 32). |

You can tank normal parties as a gladiator but definitely not main tank raids. Basically you will have to reroll, but getting to level 20 really isn't that bad. I have a 20 templar, 17 assassin, and 17 gladiator already.

During the higher levels the Templars become walking/flying armored creatures that are insanely difficult to take down.
Gladiator's can not attain the Templar level of mitigation of damage at a higher level. Gladiator's by all means can tank some things like 5 mans and I'm sure they could even tank a raid if geared extra-well and put toward all the best chants/godstones/manastones. Though they would only be doing as well as a Templar with low-quality gear/skill/stones/chants. Templar - Skills - Aion These are all Templar Skills that gladiator's can not attain. Many of them are Very good defensive skills and passive bonuses. |
