The discription for the chanter class kinda reminded me of a WoW druid w/o the feral transforming of course.

the difference i see in the chanter just being a buffbot is that they NCsoft seems to be going out of thier way to tell players that the toon will have offensive capabities.

L2 buffers/healers were just that very specific to thier job with no offensive prowess at all. the lack of offense is why there may be 3-4 high lvl healers that are not botted.
hopefully you can lvl the chanter without the need for a tank of some kind.
chanter + 2 dps toons = lvl 50

I'm surprised there have been a large number of people showing their interest in being a Chanter! It isn't new to me, though, as Chanters are very unique to Aion. That's a great sign.

There were (En)Chanters in EQ. I remember begging for Clarity

I'm not sure if EQ has this, but Chanters in Aion can transform into a soldier that can be proficient with weapons. It would be great alternative to buffing party members all day.

Are you sure it's an actual dramatic transformation or a, "yeah chanters have good staff abilities too".

(ruling out stigma) from the class news a few days ago it said chanters got staffs to fight with. And the clerics got sheilds and maces.

This was what confused me. In all the videos I've seen it was the chanter with the heavy armor, sheild, and mace. The priest had the cloth armor and the staff. I liked the kind of paladin feel the chanter had before but now we get staffs? Just hoping they switched it.
