Erm, it could always be a possibility. However, it's unlikely as all of the skills announced make no references to summoning whatsoever.

However, summoning large creatures for Heroes would make sense.

I would think that characters will have the name titles as hero or something or maybe they get an item but 1 that doesnt give advantages in battle...who knows ^^

I'd love the idea that a Spiritmaster with Hero status will get different (stronger, better, armored, etc) summons.
Summons for other classes: I hope not. Better they implement some cool spells to enchant you weapon to look heroic. Something in that direction.

Although this might not be considered as the summon you're talking about, I'd like to bring up the fact that Jamie translated something that confirms that Gladiators at max level will be able to summon things like party members.
