The Stigma system seems like it will definitely add an element of "new".

I was also thinking.. Do you think this means we can equip certain weapons onto a class that supposedly wasn't made to wield it? Such as a Cleric using a Spellbook?
I guess if they were going to allow it, but wanted to condemn it to one class, they could simply make the stats on whatever item better for the class they want to use it..

I wander if stigma will also be used to increase your characters max HP and max MP.
In FF7 you could use materia to add elemental damage to your weapon I can see that being added if it is not already in game.

Stigma would definitely provide tons of variety, hoping for more skill and class specifics. Probably gotta wait to see how it develops.

someone posted before sometime that there is a specific stigma for mages where they can wield a sword...and i want to ask you how usefull a sword could be if the spellbooks and orbs are mage specific weapons ? are there going to be special swords for mages or what ?

i think the stigma system is just there to allow players to use more than just their class and race specific items, and add more choice for players. As a player i love to be able to wield any weapon i want, useful or not, just for show purposes i suppose

Why rolling than a Gladiator if any class can wield any weapon ? only because of the skill ?

yeah, and because certain weapons are more effective when wielded by certain classes.

Example: A Gladiator will do More Dmg with a 2-handed-sword than a Cleric who has used a stigma in order to be able to wield that weapon. In the Same way a Ranger will do more dmg with a bow than a Gladiator with a Bow. (based on stats and build)

Also, Certain skills require that you equip certain weapons. For example, a Gladiator might have skills dedicated to the use of a 2 handed sword, whereas a Ranger cannot use some of their skills when wielding a 2 handed sword.

You know... You take a Sword and a Spellbook. You take (through customization) the model of the sword and the stats of the spellbook. Now it is a magic sword; therefore you need to learn the skill to wield swords.

Maybe it works that way - I'm not sure about the written above.
But that would explain the usefulness of those weapon-specific Stigmas

i haven't thought about it that way , but why should a mage put so much effort to get a magic sword....only becuase of the aesthetic part ?

imagine me a gladiator runing/flying through the abyss with my dual-Spellbooks it would defenetly kill many asmodians because they would die from laughing

Thought of that aswell. Would be fun to see a tank in a mage robe, and not loosing any stats at all.
