Someone knows if Aion will be a pay-to-play game?

I think the closest thing we got to a free MMORPG is Guild Wars...but I hardly consider that an actual MMORPG.
Expect the pay-to-play price to be $14.99 like the others. Though, I am really hoping it'll be cheaper like $9.99 like it used to be ;_;

P2p is bad in my opinion. What if Im broke? What If all I can afford is the game, and have to spend my income on other things? Why must it be a MONTHLY fee? Why not 100 bucks a month...like a magazine subscription.
I say: Expansions FTW! How did guild wars get all their money? eh?

And if Aion is P2P then it will most likely be $14.99 a month. If you're broke, don't play the game. Most (I say most cus I have not played all P2P MMOs) online p2p MMOs are more stable, less bots, faster customer service in-game and out.

Uhh? how does RL money and ingame gold have anything related? unless you plan on breaking the end user agreement of course ,hope you dont.
Or are you implying that people who cant afford P2P games cant play ? Either way its a rediculous statement.

Not saying that never happens in P2P games, dont get me wrong, but the fact of paying usually responsabilize more the players.
Gamecards is another matter, it's a helpfull nice stuff and it's a bit better than free game but in the end it's not muh different than a F2P game as nowdays the money given to "kids" is more than enough to afford a gamecard.
that is jsut a general statment, it doesnt mean that every "freebie" is a immature idiot and its doenst mean either that each kid is one too.
i think the best exemple would be all the free games arround ( SR, LC, etc) and WOW/GW.. those comunautys are horrible ( eventhough you still can find some rgeat people in there).
personnally i d like to see visa only games, but i realize that would be asking for too much, and in place of dev's i wouldnt want to eliminate a big "younger" market from the equation ;)

I'll show ye some examples, 1 for P2P and 1 without.
No P2P: I am someone that thinks P2P is ridiculous and a waste of my money. I am someone that gets a thrill each and every time someone tells me off or tells me I'm going to be banned. WHOOPTY FREAKING DOOO! If I get banned, I'll just create another account under another name that isn't mine. I'll get back on JUST to annoy that person.
Better yet, instead of annoying someone, I'll keep to myself. I'll create a mole account, 4 bot accounts, a power leveling account and some others if I think of it.
Now see? From that perspective, someone with the IQ of 2 is in their glory and the person that actually wants to play the game and not cheat or annoy people are being set aside.

P2P: I am the same person as above. I hate P2P.. its not worth my time. I would be spending money just to risk losing it all by being banned. If I end up working hard to get everything (through bots mind you) and then I get caught, what good would my money be? I'll go somewhere else where I can spend no money to have fun.
As a gamer that P2Ps myself, I prefer P2P because it does exactly what I showed in the P2P example; it weeds out the people that are there simply for immature pleasures.
Now, I know not every person that can't P2P is like the person I showed above, but a lot are. And yeah, I feel bad for those people that want to play but can't because they can't afford it, but thats life. $15 a month is not bad. Its not like its going to make you or break you.
I know because when I was 16, I didn't have a job. My mom couldn't pay for my online gaming. So I did the next best thing: I did outside jobs for other people. WHAM! In one job I had the first month's bill covered.
Now is this possible for everyone? No, but its a start. There are ways around not being able to pay.

I completley agree, if Aion was F2P i would laugh and never give this game a second thought... i cant stand the maturity of the majority of people that play F2P games and the amount of cheating that goes on. Not only that but customer service is notoriously bad on F2P games as they are making little to no money because maybe 10% of the population actually pays for various advantages that the game offers if you are to subscribe to it.
I realise that this (the maturity thing) happens in P2P games too i personally feel that WoW suffers from this i found most of the people i came across outside the circle of people i knew from previous games to be really annoying lol, but perhaps its me who is the real problem :)

But how about Mastercard user ??? :P seriously though i completely agree and i would like too see that too.
But then again if youre an adult and make your own money you gotta ask yourself if its worth it ,essentially a P2P game will cost 4-5times as mutch.
Yes it has more content than a regular game but i think many feel that they arent getting their moneys worth if they dont have time to play more than 10h a week.

B) If you want regular updates (say, every 2-3 months, with new instances, balancing, gear, etc), and not just a new expansion pack you'll have to buy every 9 months, you'll have to pay. Those also cost money.
P2P is just better IMO. It gives more profit to the game developer, which means they can create more things for the game.
As the saying goes:
You get what you pay for.
