...wait what?
Anyways, pretty expected imo. Should have just releaced more info about that, not how its been done so far and is prolly done in future.
IF its true.
But atleast ill be first to speculate, what if 1.8 is a standalone patch7expansion coming BEFORE 2.0. Prolly not but :hmm:

The following are the details(they seems reasonable and possible to come in the next expansion)
Level Cap will be lvl 55;
Talent System (New): From lvl50, players can get one point per level;
New weapons and corresponding skills, each class will have about 3 new skills;
New Guild Skill for Guild Leader only;
New Maps for Elyos and Asmodians;
New Abyss map on the ground;
New lvl 60 Manastone;
New Instance: Alatr in the Water(Translated from Chinese)
New 24 people Guild Raid
Full size I can't wait to see the new expansion. I will try to check this and find the exact info.
Seems like the rumored 1.8 was pretty close to being right.

Consumer: I'm at level cap theres nothing to do!
Company: we're working on it!
Company adds in a little more content, some fixes, adds a few grinds
Consumer: I want more! I'm finished with all this now!
Company raises the level cap and puts in one new instance at cap because their rushing it out
a month goes by...
Consumer: I'm at level cap theres nothing to do!
Laver rinse and repeat until the new gamer coming to the MMO is completely overwhelmed with the grind ahead. No new subs, long timers slowly drift away, as the money and therefore development of the game dries up
It's not a good model, I know no MMO is forever, but one of my favourites (another NCsoft game) city of heroes/villains has raised the level cap once and that was only a few months into the games life. It's now 6 years old just about, still going strong and releasing a new expansion in a few months (which won't raise the level cap)
But I'll put up with it, I'm really enjoying Aion at the moment and think it's got great potential :)
Other stuff looks good, looking forward to this hitting overall!

I don't like a new level cap either. I haven't even finished my Fenris set, I'm still working on it, and been at it since November!
Is the new content going to be luck based too?

RNG worked so far right? Why fix something that isn't broken.
Hmm..... does that mean level 60 manastones will be produced by Expert Alchemy?

I hope so, atm Expert Alchemist are worthless, I had to do it to get Fenris going (since I learned too late you can't cancel out from it), but other than that, there isn't really anything worthwhile for us in the Expert levels.
So I would assume level 60 stones would be, say, 440 expert recipes, since the level 50 ones are 390.
And ofc I'm assuming they drop from level 51+ mobs as well.
