If you kept close tabs on AionSource.com's DevTracker feature, you'll instantly notice new posts from NCsoft personnel on the forums...like this one Liv just posted:

Today, I met with Aion's Executive Producer, Producer, and Franchise Manager - we discussed the report in great detail. They understand that regardless of what we can/can not say, we must address these concerns. Saying nothing can't be an option right now.

How does the dev tracker work? Is it like this thing my probation officer locked to my ankle?

any way to add a link in those trackers that takes you to the page (in the thread) where the dev has posted in? As of right now, there is only a link to go to the first page (of the thread). thanks

I'd rather see something like:

But it's an awesome feature indeed! :-)

I made a tracker like that for AoC as a separate site, but I've never seen any vbulletin addons that do similar. Closest I've seen is changing the icon on the thread to mark it as having a dev response.

I think what most people want is the infamous 'blue' trackers of that other game :)

There's been a few over the years, but the best example is this:

Main List: MMO-Champion BlueTracker
Blue Post: MMO-Champion BlueTracker - Question about engineering helms

I'll have to dig out my old AoC code and see if I can adopt it for Aion. Its not so much needed since there's only one CM, but it might be useful at a later date.

Hardly a problem to keep track of CMs, especially now that we're down to the one.

Hell I think Liv's post count just hit double digits, if you can't keep up with that rate using the dev tracker we have now... heh

Even if we have a high CM/dev participation on the forums at a later date (doubt it) you can still keep up, god knows if there's anything interesting posted by one the entire community jumps onto it and makes a 40 page thread ;)

I'll probably get mine running anyway but yeah it's not really hard to follow them as it is (although the amount crap in some threads does make it awkward), but it does make it easier and harms no one.

Thats what I want to sift through. A lot of garbage gets posted on forums, and Id like a way to skip it all and get down to the important parts. No reason why it cant be easier.

I tried making the DevTracker link to the anchored post in the thread that the Dev responded in, but it wouldn't work (it went to the right page, but left the user staring at the wrong post). I think vbSEO screws up the link anchoring somehow. Anyhow, the only surefire way of having people stare right at the Dev's post is to link to the individual post. :(

Btw. Mark why do you mods/admins accept this kind of behaviour? I mean if it's the job of the moderators to keep the thread clean of spam what else is it?
Actually for me it looks like you don't care at all and some mods even take part in spamming or at least noone cares about a thread being completly offtopic. I personally don't bother too much as sometimes I just take part in spamming, cause everyone else does it too and it helps me to become busy when I'm bored^^
Maybe that's an explanation, as so many ppl are completly bored (glancing at cynic^^), but I totally understand that not everyone thinks like that and some ppl such might be a little pi**ed about all the spam, like 50 pages of spam...

Well if anyone is interested, although its not *really* needed, I've adapted my old AoC modtracker for Aion forums (AionSource and Hellbound for now). Probably be better once the game goes live, but some might find it useful now.

Its very simplistic, updates about every 30 minutes, and creates an RSS feed covering all sites or specific sites. Oh and if you look at the thread overview with it, each "posted" line is the actual link to the original forum and that specific post - so it will take you directly to where in the thread it was posted.

Aion ModTracker (All Forums)

Any bugs or problems just PM me, seems to be working alright so far :)

@ AeonX: I understand your concern, and the only way people like you or me can help moderate the forums is by reporting abusive posts or spam.

Awesome if Mark can get it implemented. The current Dev Tracker is mediocre at best.

I like to keep up with the website with the rss feeds and wanted to see if there's any way to get the dev tracker to post to an rss feed. Not sure if it's possible but wanted to throw the idea out there. Thanks
