Appologies for posting another one of these. there have been quite a few duo threads (I have read them all) about what class is the best to duo with. However I still have some questions.
A little background. I play FFXI but wife wanted to play something else. She is a total newb and decided to play a priest. We are about to hit 10, and there really is not that information about what play style is like going foward. We will always play together.
1) We will do mostly PvE only (though PvP later on sounds like fun)
2) We will very Rarerlly team up with other players
OK Questions (also keep in mind wife is a newb so her reaction times are SLOW)
Specific questions
1) Is the kill spead between Templar and Glad big difference in PvE 10-30? Considering heals may come a little slow do you think the added survivablity would make it easier over the long run to go with Templar?
2) Can you duo instance zones for gear? 10-30 Assuming you can't does Templar + Cleric duo only need to pick up one random DD and do well?
3) Which of the four set ups would you suggest and why (Temp/Chanter or Temp/Cleric or Glad/Chanter or Glad/Cleric)
Thanks in advance for the tips.

1)I've never seen a gladiator below lv30 so I can't comment on this, all I can say is that templars are a pain to play until around lv40.
2)You can't really duo anywhere with elites except KHQ/Mist mane/etc, too many mobs and no CC, so you'd need a full party of Sorc/Cleric/You/DD/DD/DD or chanter
3)When I duo elites, I always do it with a chanter, and the class you choose comes down to preference, if you like faster pulls, more durability and strong burst damage but limited DPS then i'd go for templar, but if you like higher DPS with less damage mitigation then glad is for you. Chanters are always good on the side for duoing mobs.

1) The difference is remarkable. Gladiators kill much faster than templars, and don't lose too much survivability.
2) My main is a glad, and I've tried 2-manning elites with a chanter friend. It's ridiculously slow, and we could only handle one at a time, especially since he had to spend most of his time healing me. A templar would require less healing, but obviously wouldn't do as much damage to the mob.
3) Glad + Chanter will probably kill fastest of all the combos. When you're just killing regular mobs, you won't need too much healing, and chanters do more damage than clerics, plus their buffs will help you do more damage as well.
