I had idea to make SM too, but I stopped at lvl 30 when I saw - OMG IT REALLY SUX EXCEPT FEAR! Later I saw 2.0 changes and finally protests of Korean SMs.
Till this moment I felt i will make it pro SM, but I seriously gived up after i sum all defects.

Anyway If you really dont have other favorite class, dont give up because
Knowledge about game/class + gear > nerfed skills/spells

That's a lie. The spirit always goes, "Don't worry, I have your back!" It then proceeds to get further and further back until poof, it's gone. Even Spirits don't like SMs.

Learn to play, scrub. Sleep arrow is a direct counter to any variation of fear. It's instant cast and even if an instant fear gets off as well, it will wear off long before the sleep giving the ranger enough time to set up more favorable conditions.

A sm has to cycle through at least 3 skills before they can shut down a ranger where as the ranger has to cycle through 2. It's a simple number crunch you fucking baddy.

Ignite -> Implosion (these rangers have so many buffs on them...) -> bodyroot -> root -> instafear -> Shackle -> fear (shriek) -> and then you can start doing dmg -> CoW -> IP -> Erosion -> oh wait... It is 7 skills before dpsing and 10+ skills including DPSing + 20+ seconds of time till death.

A ranger has to: silence -> stun -> rupture -> brightwing -> explosive. 1.5-2 seconds till death
2 times less skills, 10 times faster than a SM.
SM is clearly OP and needs a nerf.
Rangers need buffs.

How about you get some gear, maybe a dash of magic resist. Sleep, Silence and Stun won't hit with our awesome sub 1K magic accuracy.

SM's that socket MR will be almost useless in both PvE and PvP. Need Macc to be able to CC those MR clerics otherwise the people whom we feared that isn't the cleric will just get it dispelled.

Me being full Miragents and full 50 PvP acc + Lakhanes Kerchief have roughly 1400 Mres with no MR socketted, yet these supposed rangers with 1k Macc are still able to get me silenced and/or slept all the time even though I should have about a 40% chance to resist it(RNG has never favored me anyways so I guess I can have 99% chance to resist and still get silenced and slept anyways).

You should also reconsider the sockets on your gear, it's too mixed with crap you don't even need unless you plan on stacking it which you aren't. Your attack is crap and your crit is slightly under softcap, it's no surprise that you get your ass beat by an SM since you think we're so OP.

Still trying to socket my gear (just broke 100 stones on chest) and I wouldn't go attack because it's nyerk for a Ranger. If you don't know that then you don't understand how +attack manastones work and I'm not going to educate you. Go read about it yourself. And about my current placeholder stones, if you don't know what crit (do I need softcap with food/scroll? nope), HP, MRes and Accuracy are good for then........

I don't have problems with SM's anyway. I have a problem with GOOD SM's. There aren't many of you. Just pointing that out.

I'm aware of the benefits of each of those type of stones, but I don't see it improving much of anything for you if you decide to mix them up the way you did. Also attack isn't nyerk for a ranger, I know plenty of really good rangers that socket attack and are still deadly in the abyss.

All Rangers with a decent bow have deadly offense. Those attack Rangers may be choosing +attack for the extra 3 powershards worth of damage per hit to min/max or they may not understand how little it is actually helping them.

Anytime I win a fight with <1000 HP, my HP helped. Whenever I burst a temp, block cleric (they exist for some reason) or Chanter with parry buff up, accuracy helped (granted I'm a bit overkill, it's leftover from when I had 1700) and whenever I resist ranger/cleric/glad/chanter/sin magic/stuns MRes helped.

edit: I also just noticed you don't have body root nor shackle. Maybe you put them on in the Abyss or something but without those, you would be Ranger food.

You're not supposed to go full MR. You only need 1.5-1.6k and you can resist non-casters enough. You can slot the rest with MA or HP. You shouldn't underestimate MR, because your mind doesn't register all of the effects that did get resisted mid-combat, unless you were looking for something specific and it got resisted. You do notice when things land on you, because you can see them. In a group, it's not the SM's job to deal with the Cleric that has 1.9k+ MR.
