Many excellent guides have been written by the community on Aion Source. You can check them out in our General Guides Section, although sometimes they're buried in among all the content there. Some of these guides are a source to searching for the epic and unique looking loot drops from treasure boxes or rare spawns.
For instance, user Yasashiku has done some guides to finding a variety of rare headpieces as detailed in the first sections below. Of course, the new content hasn't been highlighted as much yet and I thought I would add some information about the new boxes as they drop a variety of interesting weapon skins. But first, some information about general treasure boxes.
General Treasure Chest Information
Treasure chests spawn every 50 minutes to an hour after the previous chest in the area has been opened/killed. These particular chests come in three varieties:
- Unique Drop Treasure Chest (Gold Chest): it is very likely, but still not guaranteed to have a unique or epic loot drop.

- Rare Treasure Chest (Red Chest): likely to have better loot than a regular treasure chest

- Normal Treasure Chest (Brown Chest): the most common variety of treasure chest. I've gotten up to 80,000 kinah and plenty of potions from them on the test server, so they're still nothing to sneeze at.

Obtaining the Sirocco Mask
The Sirocco mask is from a level 28 treasure box nestled among the elite Mau in Ice Claw Village. Please keep in mind that loot drops will fall significantly if your character is too high level when camping the box using our guide to the treasure box locations.

Obtaining the Hidden Fire Mask (Asmodian Only)
The fire spirit mask is found in the Sky Temple's Fire Room from a rare spawn. Yasashiku's guide gives a moment-by-moment image view of how to obtain the rather unique skull mask.

Obtaining the Bloody Sky Mask
This mask is particularly fun for those who are level 46 and above to hunt for. Please not that level 55's will not be able to get loot from these boxes. There are videos of the treasure box locations for both Elyos and Asmodians in the guide.

Treasure Boxes in Inggison
Information for these treasure boxes was obtained on the Korean Powerwiki. While the boxes may appear at different spots on the map, they'll be in a similar general location to the ones marked below.
The Forest Box

These boxes drop on both the Inggison and Gelkmaros sides where they may contain leafy weapon skins as shown below.

The Cliff Town Box
The Cliff Town boxes contain pine cone and other forest creature oriented weapon skins and are located in the upper right side of the map.

Treasure Boxes in Gelkmaros
Information for these treasure boxes was obtained on the Korean Powerwiki. While the boxes may appear at different spots on the map, they'll be in a similar general location to the ones marked below.
The Southeast Map Box

These boxes drop on both the Inggison and Gelkmaros sides where they may contain leafy weapon skins as shown in the Inggison description of the weapons above.
Owl Village
Ok, so I know that Aion has a bizarre name for owls in the NA version, but after reading that they actually properly translate to "owl" from the Korean version, I find I must side with that version since these critters do indeed look like owls. At any rate, I went after these boxes for a while and they tend to be inside of huts with elites, which makes me sad as I almost invariably get up to the huts without mishap and then die after opening the boxes on my test server cleric.

The weapons that can drop from these boxes commonly are made of bones or animal skins.

My favorite is either the bear claw mace (so funny!) or the bone bow.
Lights out for me now,
Nobody
