i have asked this in a ticket and have it confirmed by a GM that changing the ingame font is not bannable.

i have changed mine because the default one is thin and hard to read in chatboxes (due to the chatbox NOT having a transparency slider giving us the option to make it semi transparent or not transparent at all).

just wanted to state this. can update with GM reply and guide how to do it, if requested.

(if you google it, you will actually find a link to AS locked topic discussing it)

It's not even a client modification per se. only involves adding one directory and placing the desired font in it.

changing the files @ AionEU\L10N\1_ENU\data\fonts

putting any Truetype font in there and chaning it's name to vera.ttf ( I'm not sure you need to rename it to this , but I'm allmost sure , can't test now , no aion installed in this pc ) will make it the current font used.

or by editing the fonts.pak in the Data/Fonts folder ( there inumerous posts how to open pak files )

the correct path for english client is ...\Aion\L10N\2_enu\data\fonts\

just create the fonts folder in that path, as originally it's not even there.

rest is correct.

any ttf font works, play around with it till you get your desired result.

editing pak files, i would steer clean off that, that is a direct client modification. but this is merely an addition, so no reason to ban.

Can some of you post good fonts in aion ? We'r bound to miss someones due to the large number of available fonts , so some sharing would help ;P

Anyway, I tried out 2 Windows 7 fonts and they didn't look half bad.

btw there is a fix for transparent chat window, which is also not banable because they won't find out to begin with.

I am not sure whether if you still remember or use the same font, but wouldn't hurt to ask. I was wondering if you can give me the name of the font you used for your Aion client, I really liked the font you used in the screenie for your signature, if you can give me the name of the font used there would be great.

Yeah it works just tried it, i guess you play with the English Client right? If yes make sure you made the folders like me e.g. E:\.Gamez\AionF2P\l10n\2_ENU\data\fonts\vera.ttf if you don't have it just create it, yesterday i was freaking out cause i couldn't make it work, cause i thought i just have to modify that folder in the common E:\.Gamez\AionF2P\l10n\ENU\... Folder, but like i said just create the 2_ENU\data\fonts and put in there your custom font and rename it to vera.ttf worked perfectly.
