Since gathering is also boosted for the crafting expo, i thought i might share my macro's for that too.
I enhenced my first gathering macro quite a bit, to an extend which renders the gathering hats you can buy for kinah basically useless. I know you get one for free from the expert quest, but its quite a journey to get there - and with this macro i can't really think of any use for it, if it was any useful at all is another question xD
/attack /select [VariableX] /select [VariableX] /select [VariableY] /select [VariableY] /select [VariableZ] /select [VariableZ] /attack
The double select is intended to make it work properly.
Replace the X Y Z with variables you want to use.
I recon you might go on with even more variables, but i think the macro will start to lag quite a bit, but feel free to test around and report your results. Make sure to use two identical lines for each variable.
To fill the variables you have to enter them manually in chat, or create another macro like this:
/variable X ItemA /variable Y ItemB /variable Z ItemC
In which you change the items to gather as you need them.
If you want only 1 or 2 Items, leave the item name clear for the other.
Go to your favorite gather spot and move close to one of your items to gather, and use the gather macro. your toon will gather the items in your vicinty from A to C in that order. means, if there is ItemC very close to you, but ItemA is a good few meters back, it will head to ItemA first until no more ItemA in range, then proceed with ItemB and so on. Due to Aion's horrific targeting system, it's not possible to just select the closest gathering node.
Take advanced care that you won't pull any aggro while you use this macro - if you get hit while gathering (note: each time you get dmg from DoTs, it will count as a hit), you will loose your current gather. I have another macro for dangerous places where you have to roam with caution.
Once you hear the finish sound, instantly hit the macro key again and the macro will break the animation and get right back to gathering.
The items you want to gather have to be in range, i estimate the max. range to be around 25-30m
After you finished gathering all 3 items, the macro would still try to gather from the (now gone) node, you will have to move closer to an existing node or wait about 1 second after the node is gone.
The further afar an item is from you, the longer the macro might take to find it.
To gather i prefer classes that have permanent / semi-permanent speed skill, like chanter/ranger/assa. Speed scrolls help quite a bit too, and i heard that using transform food/skills will remove the animation while gathering/crafting altogether, making it go about 15% faster, although i had no luck with this yet, maybe you just have to use a special type of those. (if anyone knows i'd greatly appreciate a heads up on this one)
To gather aether i especially prefer to go as gladiator, because his 1m flight time is OP for gathering aether. with major pots i can stay in air for about 10 minutes. Anything else is just insane and requires a damn lot of patience
/select [Self] /select [VariableX] /select [VariableX] /select [VariableY] /select [VariableY] /select [VariableZ] /select [VariableZ]
Extend with any more variables you added to your first script.
Using this will set yourself as target, and then try to target any of the items you set within range. it will also target them if they are behind you or out of sight.
This can be used while on the go, so just keep roaming around and use this macro to check for items.
Once you lost yourself as target, you know there is at least one item in range. If you now hit attack and right after back, you will get a glimpse where the item is and then can check your radar to see if its save to approach.
/use Fresh [VariableW] /use Big [VariableW] /use Rich [VariableW] /use Greater [VariableW] /use Pure [VariableW] /use Brilliant [VariableW]
Will first break all bundles from highest to lowest. Remove those you don't want to break.
Alter variable to what you want to use, and set it via chat like
/variable W Aether Gem
/variable W Orichalcum Ore
/variable W Ferilla
that's it, hope it helps, enjoy
make sure to report problems, ask questions - i will do my best to help.
