i know you can never have to use the hard disc again once you install once. I mean, if i preorder the CE now, will they send me a product key or something that will allow me to get into beta?

it's an open beta this weekend. all you need to play is a valid bnet account.

the CE has physical items and there is no headstart afaik so they don't send you any preorder codes like an mmo would.

and no buying CE i don't think doesn't guarantee beta. i think you could get that with digital prepurchase but not sure. not hard to get in to a beta session anyway.

you never have to use the cd's the first time, just put the code in your bnet account and you cna download from there if you want.

maybe i'll show some more tonight.

basically i'd say it loooks and feels like it wants to have wasd movement. c2m is so antiquated.

when you talk to a quest giver or pick up a piece of lore or w/e you can move away right away and it'll just give you the voice over.

seems to be more quest based than d2.

definitely all corridors and small mob packs compared to d2. i'm guessing you can forget randomized maps as well.

as you can see there was a good feeling of power. i had a quest to kill some particular mob and didn't notice any mobs that put up much of a fight from my lazer beam.

when i jump in game tonight i might show the inventory a little, but yeah the bag space is kinda small.

Pretty sure dungeons are randomized at least, as I entered the same dungeon twice due to a DC and it was completely different than when I entered before.

I liked what I played of it, ran through once with the monk. I also encountered groups of 20+ enemies so I'd say it will have plenty of massive swarms later in the game. I honestly can't recall many groups of mobs in D2 that were much over 20, and I played that game for years.

I'll be getting this eventually, possibly not at launch, though. Money for this month is going to GW2 pre-purchase. :sparkles:

New Tristam and the map close to it are not randomized ( while the terrain may change a bit ) the dungeon, at least the one we have the beta, is totally random :snowman:

the cities and very close places to them were never random in diablo 2, i dont remember about diablo 1 though.

Diablo 1 only had Tristram, and that was always the same layout as well. All the dungeon levels were random, though.

tbh only so many variations to each zone in diablo 2 iirc. it was basically either north south east or west versions. more or less anyway.

not that big of a deal. even in d2 they might as well have not been randomized afair.

Get into the catacombs and it gets harder dk. And the final boss is a relatively long fight. monk was my favorite class so far as well. least favorite is witch doctor, but that might change once I level up and get better spells

I think it's safe to say that D3 is a solid game for what it is. It's not new or innovative by any means, but if you want a lootfarming, top-down dungeon crawler, you'll likely not find one that's better.

ok some more action this time. with device and tepi in tow. we more or less wander around this dungeon and then do some random dynamic? quest then get lost. i even manage to get myself killed.

Maxed monk and barb, I think I'll go for monk, the barb hits like a truck ( I did a 153 dmg crit with Ancient Spear ... :snowman: and I 1 shot or 1.1 shot every mob pack with Cleave ) but the monk is hella fun :sparkles:

Made a harcode Witch Doctor with a friend, duo WD is totally sick, seeing all the skills, I think the WD will be a crazy safe farming char :snowman:
