I play a level 55 chanter in full chain, but have always wondered about leather, I used to play leather around level 40 which was fun, but just followed the crowed up to where I am now.
I hardly PVP, if I ever do it's in a group so I'm not sure if that means anything in regards to play leather.

But yeah, level 55, full leather chanter, cap evasion, PVE armour?
Please give good arguments, no trolling!

Chanter is now the most defenseless and the most utterly useless class in AION as we approach 2.7.

As long as you have 3 skills on your bar (WoQ, WoW and WoS) and know how to use them in a group, no one will give a nyerk about what you are wearing including yourself.

That said, while solo, you will be raped by any other class played by any decent non-idiot regardless of what your attire is.

Leather works just fine. My miragents is leather slotted with attack. Great PvE grind/dps set.

For pvp though I doubt you could get up to 2200 evasion or higher. So probably pointless.

I also have a MBoost 30e set and a 40e chain set. Like Adamam said, you really can't tell the difference.

And tbf, because I'm not PVP oriented so I don't wear PVP clothing, I'm pretty much raped by any class anyway, unless I can run fast enough >_>

In all seriousness though, I've always felt with leather I evaded more attacks, and imo parry is just pointless, so was consider going back to leather seeing as evaded means damage is missed, not just some of it.

And I agree Vela, we are the most usless class as we get further in to the updates, but, with leather, I can be useless looking sexy!

At lvl 55, even a templar with 3K block doesn't block anything so a chanter...

You gotta have more evasion then your targets accuracy to see evades. So if your pvp targets have 2400 accuracy or so, your gonna want at 2800 evasion.

So while that is possible, it would take alot to get there. Also having 0 concentration would mean you relied mostly on evading to not get interrupted when healing, which is where my major issue with leather comes into play. Probably be fine if you have a high concentration head piece like the anuhart's chanter one or something though.

Edit: Now I know that 55 stuff could get alot higher, but if I slotted all my miragent's with evasion, I would get 2200 evasion with mantra on. So hitting even close to 2800 would be very difficult.

I think with a full evasion set, you may evade 2-3 attacks out of the 15 attacks from the enemy melee class :P

But aye, that's a huge loss and I always seem to forget the concentration!
It's a shame leather can't be reskinned.. Or concentration stones, either one.

They need to add chanter only manastones that add: HP, MP, Attack, Crit, Healing Boost, Magic Boost, Magical Accuracy, Accuracy, Magic Resist, Block, Parry, and Concentration all at once.

Since you know... we are the only class that legitimately needs to slot EVERYTHING.

Why would you need to stack it when it's natural in chain?

I'm on about if a chanter decided to go leather which isn't natural in leather O_O

You don't need to stack anything you don't want to!

That's what I was thinking, if I did go leather with evasion, I could make up for concentration with accessories, but I'm not sure if accessories can make up for natural concentration from chain?

I know concentration is important when healing so you're not interrupted, but how else is important? I mean, would it be such a huge loss if there wasn't much concentration but high evasion?
