Awesome Work!!! Thanks a lot.

Now, please find us a fix for FoV from Korean Server. These dimwits at NCWest won't get anything done.

see 4 posts above - with 64 bit client you can enable console and set fov

Using the 64bit client the minimap is working as it should. Not to mention that "Contestant 1~10" are showing up with their original names and legions.

I feel like we are gonna get banned because we see the names of the rest in the arena. :foot-in-mouth:

I'm using their own software, how do they want to ban me for that? :study:

No you don't. I didn't see them. You only see them in training. And in the solo one you're supposed to see the name...

It does also in non training ground

I think the client you use is an old one cause removing names in arena was something they patched out after first 2.7 release

My question is: What is the difference with a 32 bit client?
-- Careful what u say or my foot is going so far up your ass you'll be puking my shoe polish!

Drizzeh 55 sorcerer - Gustave 55 Assassin - Shinsoku 50 ranger

Top Secret chars: Templar (40), Gladiator (45), Spiritmaster (50), Cleric (50)

  • No stuttering
  • No 10 second freezes when Elyos show up
  • No 40 to 10 fps drop when I get hit in sieges
  • Faster loading times
  • Minimap is "fixed"
  • I see the names in the PvP arena

Never saw them on the 32bit and the moment I switched, they were there. I was with Hexe on TS and she saw the names as Contestant 1~10.

It's not a bug, it's a feature of an older client. You could see the names in the initial 2.7 patch, but not after they patched it.

WHAT???????????????????????????????????????????????????

I think this is not real.

It also makes no sense that if u INSTALL AION ON YOUR 64 BIT OS isnt it the SAME THING?

Also, WHAT POSSIBLE DIFFERENCE would there be with A 64 BIT CLIENT VS, NORMAL CLIENT?

Some of our players have been using the 64bit client with Aion 2.7 and report complete and total success. I asked for a step-by-step guide for it and this is it.

First, please back up your Aion directories before you try anything. Nothing is ever guaranteed to work 100% of the time and it's always good to be able to undo. DO NOT try this unless you definitely have a 64bit operating system. If you do not know if you're running on 64 bit, then don't try this. These steps have been provided by Quasimodo (thank you). Please use at your own risk.

Steps:

  • Download the aion 64 bin directory from the Korean 2.7 client: http://dl.dropbox.co...in64_2.7_KR.rar
  • Unpack it to your Aion folder (AionEU or AionNA), so it's AionEU/bin64/
  • In launcher rigth-click on Aion, select properties and in commandline parameters add:
    -64
  • Start Aion as usual & enjoy 64-bit client

Amazingly simple...

Ok you proved me wrong mal. good job. :D And thank you. Was easy as hell too.

Another bug, if an item is remodeled and you want to preview the skin on your char, it shows the original item instead of the remodeled one.

Another bug, my own emotes no longer appear in my chat, others' do.

Sorry if the information has been posted twice. As said in my initial post, the credit for this one is due to Quasimodo. I've been in an ongoing pm discussion with him for a while about it. I assume that both of you independently came up with the same fix. I know it was something I just didn't have time to look into and so when a fan sent me instructions and the upload I knew I had to post it for people to use. After all, some machines just don't handle the 32 bit version well.

Speaking of which, do you know which version of the 64 bit files you're all using? There are several Aion 2.7 versions at this point that it could be and that's my main question about some of the bugs that are cropping up. It would be helpful to know so that we could potentially try to upgrade or downgrade to decrease the number of bugs.

Edit: just added a bug list to the original post. Much thanks to 3xception and others who've been testing.
