If you have ever wanted your very own captive Shugo butler, then this guide if of interest to you. In 3.0, Aion introduces player housing on a very large scale, with 500 houses available outside of the faction capital cities of Sanctum and Pandemonium (500 houses each) and 15 available outside of other major cities, specifically Heiron, Beluslan, Gelkmaros, and Inggison. Additionally, there is an instanced Townhouse that any character can have through completing a series of housing quests at level 21. Major housing information is shown below. Note that there are limited amounts of houses with the largest mansions being the most limited and expensive when put up for auction.

Obtaining your first townhouse requires a lot of running around. The video below shows the process and gives a good overview of the Elyos housing outside of Sanctum. The process is very similar for Asmodians. As part of the quest series, you obtain a book that gives you a skill to teleport to your house.

For those who went through housing decorating in games like SWG, decoration is actually a fairly simple and intuitive process. There is a new crafting skill specifically for crafting furniture, so those interested in decorating should plan to have an alt level up the new craft.

All houses with the exception of the townhouses are sold by auction. The default bottom auction prices will be seen as somewhat steep to newer players and it is unknown if they will be similar prices for the NA/EU version. When houses are first sold, you can actually go inside of the house and talk to the butler about a purchase. New houses are obvious with their open door and large for sale sign. When reselling a house, the door will remain closed, but the for sale sign will be present.

The auctioneer for houses is separate from the regular auctioneers and is located in the central hub of the housing districts outside of Sanctum and Pandemonium. As can be seen above, houses appear to go up for sale at a default auction rate that then goes up as people bid on the house. The number of bids and current price of the house are shown.

All houses have a single room floor plan that can be decorated with a variety of items. The initial housing quest actually gives a chest that increases warehouse space by one row and thus for those who need space as soon as possible it represents a nice present.

The houses near cities are inside of non-PVP zones. You can see a house outside of Heiron and the zone that looks like a shimmer of white at the border where you cross between PVP and non-PVP. There is text and a sound that appears on the screen when going from one to the other.

The Elyos and Asmodian housing areas both have maps with house clusters and interesting land spots, so that some houses really do have a better view than others. The Asmodian and Elyos sides do have a very different look to them with the Asmodian housing area being in the mountains with pine trees and the Elyos map being near a beach. There are also a wide variety of NPCs that wander around in order to make the housing areas feel more alive.

The last image is the Elyos townhouse area. If we all packed ourselves into real space townhouses there, we'd probably end up with the Walled City of Kowloon, but without the ability to PVP with our neighbors. Thank goodness that it's instanced.

Hopefully this guide has cleared up some questions about housing. I suppose now it's time to go poke our Korean correspondent to quit playing barbie dollhouse and start actually leveling and figuring out things about skills.

Cheers,

Nobody

Did I make mistake when counting digits or is the starting price for the largest house auction 1.3 billion?

Does maintenance mean you have to pay rent to keep the house?

Yes, it appears to be weekly maintenance.

I think it's meant to be something like a guild house. So if you're thinking about it in those terms, then yes, it kinda makes sense.

I think it's going to be the same as the pets. Everything for those houses you can get in game is useless and the good stuff will be sold at the cash shop.

It's another frivolous implementation. Nobody will give a nyerk for this.

Indeed. With things like the dining tables that give stat buffs, extra warehouse spaces from the chests, and random trophies who can go wrong? I mean, the Koreans are giving everybody a 1 room house where you can invite your friends over and put in a bed. I wonder what THAT could be used for...

:eyeroll:

I do love the female shugo butler though. So cute!

Seriously... is it so much that we want?... Few wide areas with few low level mobs (just not to get slept by the OP class :sparkles: ) so we can smack each other whenever we want to?... :eyeroll:

Ain't so hard to make an area with good kiting grounds where people loose less and win more by PvPing... :eyeroll:

Idk but I feel buttnyerked by these 5 lovely Koreans... PvE is good but it gets boring by the time... and NO,it doesnt go better when they put new one :snowman:
Goodbye Aion :(

So, we all get a townhouse, but only 500 lucky users get one of the better houses?

I have bought a House but because I can't afford the weekly maintenance cost I resell it.

Is there any way to take back the studio I had before I bought the house ?
