why do you always insta shock remove after ambush?
he won't kill you in this 1 sec with 10k tp and shield up. he have to use another stun otherwise you can just blind leap away. if he didn't use 5 sigil skill just shock remove than and blind leap.
he can't stun you anymore (only 1-2 sigil) and you can easily kite him and kill him.
if he uses 5 sigil strike after ambush just wait for his next stun and blind leap. no sigils on you + illusion still up = no chance for him to get another sigil stun.

I think this is possible if you react fast enough and gives you a better chance to win without resist etc.

(only tried it a few times and yeah I'm not that good sorc player. So don't hate its just a thought)

but nice vid its always nice to see some skilled players

Not hatin' at all, but let me share my thoughts ^^

- Overby was doing Ripclaw right after Ambush and just before my Illusion buff was applied on me, otherwise he wouldn't get the time to do it (would land it straight into Illusion or I would just start kiting and get away "clean"; tho kiting is not usually working cause he has superior speed as a sin :\

- I try to remove shock as quickly as possible since u can't cope with his extreme dmg and also this is elyos sin that has Radiant Silence: so if I dont remove he can just go "primal" on me and do silence> +3 runes and aerial => dead in less than 5sec (assuming I can even survive ~5sec of Overby's 3k+ dps on player :\\)

- fights were very time sensitive, after remove shock animation, I got less than 6sec to start wiping his resists and try and do a covered silence or at least root (after I induced his Flash of Speed which works exactly like Sorc's blink... yes it also deselects him :\) and all this while kiting so I dont get bursted the fk down;

It's all about a sequence that u need to do and wipe the resists with, along the video (even tho fights might seem similar) I was trying new sequences aiming to find the perfect one

Was my question too, the times he was beating you was because you used RS asap then illusion. Not that i really would give a nyerk but you're just baiting kite/fe/at/sd there so bad. Ok against a non mres glad/templar/chanter w/e else it gives you time to cover up your nyerk but a sin, not really. Not hating but sorc is not a hard class to play, its a game of rock paper scissors in every way, sorcs get the atomic bomb which blows rock paper and scissors to nyerk. If he does this, you do this. If you do that, it'll do this.

Edit: Don't know if you were waiting for cds, and if he was using radiant anyway.

sry meng but Sorc doesn't have 90 sec of UD; not sure what u mean by baiting/kiting/f-e/at/sd so bad... u should elaborate

anyway just wanna add for general knowledge (also cause ppl whispered me why not wait with Illusion at the end of remove shock so I can block the next stuns or smth): both pain rune and aerial are magic, Illusion wont evade them so it's kinda pointless to "preserve" Illusion for the end of remove shock buff and have all his dmg pressuring me while I am trying to void resist buffs

he didnt use radiant but like I said we were both trying out new stuff; I cant just eliminate the possibility of that and find myself stun-locked (this isnt 3.0 yet)...

also idk what kind of sins u met but u cant tank 3sec of Overby's dps, then wait for him to do another stun like pain rune or aerial and remove shock ...that's not possible (I tried it back in August when I first met him and he had way less gear than now), just think how many weaves he'll be doing and you'll see how easily he can outdps my HP... (yes even with shield up, which is blown out from Ambush solely...)

Usually if you're fast enough and notice him you have a very very very small window to use a skill (like illusion/iron clad for example) to absorb his skills after ambush so you can get away with more HP it's what I can usually do with prot ward when I see a sin out of hide

people dont understand how hard Setys made it for himself, i think he did it for the challenge.


with AT and fe plus the skill that removes root, Overby had all the tools he needs to stay out of CC, and because he is fast and Steys is not using MR set or EW, this means all his CC will land.


in other words, a difficult to control physical dps vs a sorc who is venerable to all his CC.




sorc are not OP, sm are not op, clerics are not op, all classes have a good chance to beat the other one, when you compare skill set to skill set. but MR is whats broken.

Do you know that IF instead of following you he runs on the other way around after you "wasted" Remove Shock for Ambush, he can just kite/hide till Ambush will be up again (and then chain-stun without giving you any chance to react). So using Remove Shock as fast as possible can be a double weapon, but this should be based on the sin buffs.

The sin "burst" is mainly based on Flurry (Deadly Focus/Devotion) once those are down, his burst will be way lower.

Overall, it was a nice video with some nice duels (which are almost impossible nowdays because of the right mres of people, a totally broken stat).

what lolburst jinx? more than 80% of his dmg was based on weaves alone, otherwise pls name a skill that was hitting so hard for u to assume it was a "lolburst" skill...

you should definitely give Overby a try.. in your HP set if u have one so it's fair fight

yup I know that, tho for some weird reason I was the one trying to actually gtfo from the mad dps and trying to always keep some distance; when I was stuck to cast SS and Overby managed to do f/e in last m.second u can also see that I also double potted and still died in like 1sec after... and by "kite" I mean I once tried to keep running 25sec for runes to disappear from me.. it wasnt very effective, dash and swifting give sin more than enough tools re-engage

Nah,I meant the fights I had with him as I told ya in-game... 13k shields + AP pot and fine pot and heals and I couldnt do much of a dps to lower him under 30%

Really nice concept imo, and good duels.
And Overby is a good guy for letting you live for your rank in some duels when the outcome was clear ^^
and you see what happens when sorc can cc the sin in last duel, but doing so can be such a pain D:
