UD doesnt stop root, guess you made a typo and meant stun...
Anyways, imo its better to safe Strengthen wings for the crucial moments.
A smart Cleric will safe his remove shock when really needed or when he get aerial holded, but since there arent many smart people around you just need to make the Cleric waste removeshock.
Oh and if you want to play it easymode, you could also get a MR set.
About Sorc, its a total different story, a good Sorc will win most of the time. You just need to be lucky with silence godstones.

Vs sorc also use a MR set if u have it ( they have to use ma set or Magic Boost I, but if they use ma set they have low hp ) Using an HP set is also nice to survive their burst but a good sorc will just rape u even with high hp. The best tactic is to prebuff SW + ud and run towards sorc. If u see them cast vaizel run back a few sec so his vaizel wont work that good ( for sorc that start right away with flame - frost - silence - root - magma etc ). By running away u force them to go back and waste time of their Magic boost I and they might cc u 1 min to be sure that strengthen wings wont come in between their dot dot silence root rotation. But by doing this they also waste their magic boost i, so they end up with lower mb and lower hp ( ma set ) to hit u properly. During cc's u can hit the sorc with cleave / attacks and if ur lucky proc silence or knockdown. If u end up in cc after the 1 min and they do the flame fusion - frost - silence - root on u, i would suggest to charge away asap after u wake up and kite flame fusion, then buff berserk arround 2 seconds left of flame fusion and charge at the sorc ( high chance to kill them here because they are ''weak'' since they have to cc u to gain control and takes time ). If they cast BoIC u are pretty much dead ( i win button against glad ). To win from a sorc u need LUCK, u cant win by being good u only win by being lucky tbh ( root resist in strenght wings / silence proc / random knockdown ). If sorc gets u in root with silence + double debuff u could try hit him with bow to interrupt magma / inferno ( highest nukes ). If u dont u are dead vs a good sorc
Against a SM i would say a MR set is kinda useless ( because most sm's have high ma ). Would use an HP set unless u know the sm doesnt have high ma and u can resist a few skills from sm. I would wait for the body root / silence if they ever do that. They will never come close to u, so after body root is over u have a small chance to win. U charge at the SM with charge + berserk and try to kill him in 1 nuke else he will pretty much dot dot slow/bind/silence u. This is IF the sm doesnt use fear ( with fear its almost impossible, u can win vs fear / shriek by gliding but with instant its almost impossible ). Ofcourse lucky silence cleave will help a lot.
Moral of all this. Glad will never NEVER win from a magic class without RNG ( silence / random knockdowns / MR ). Its impossible and if u claim u can do that then u are just fighting a noob mage !

Just for the correction, Glad vs Cleric is actually the most fair fight in Aion.
Saying that Clerics will walk over glad is just a stupid thing to say, since the odds are quite even.

It's an overgearing and will result in nothing but Mechwarrior style, making people kill themselves into your gear
Having SW up is enough to resist root once and you can get to the cleric and make him suffer... well,if you dont know how it's your fault, not your class or gear fault
PS: Oh,you already answer

Tbh the above crap is pointless, I know if a gladi gets your in aether or on the floor when you 70% hp or lower post remove shock it is usually lights out, you're right in that regard. But if you survive the strengthen wings / beserking side of things, which you can, it becomes a case of root dot kite earth wrath rinse n repeat. Its only 1 minute after all of not being able to root us and you've got two shields, flash, hp pots etc... + if things get hairy a covered blind makes kiting childs play.
edit: Mres gladi vs mres cleric - advantage gladi sure.

But the glads I've dueled mainly roflstomp me on my mres sets (40e and now 55 cloth) like bawses... Why?... Well, because glads like Cez,Rastekkel and Odyne dont let me survive their berserking or SW... and usually Im so unlucky with the roots on SW that on one full duration I proc only one
PS: Im not using blind.

I have tried a few 100 to 0 on clerics, aka stand still a sec mate, with various combos using beserkin n a +15 tac spear (yea, pvp combine). Aether hold ferocious chain crashing blow doesn't do it, even on zerk. Can argue that your 40e had a role to play in you gettin stomped and would love to do same with the cloth but that wouldnt be true.
End: If you are not slotting blind, using full mres against a nearly pure melee class then yea you are disadvantaged. Change one of these things, either mres to hp or no blind to have blind and its an even fight. Change both and maybe even throw in a bit of mboost and I'd say you have advantage.

Cleric with high block set? Easy win for cleric, possible for gladi, but cleric needs to fail alot or godstones/randomstumbles have to proc.
Concept of "1v1 in Aion" is silly, too much RNG, 0 coordination.

try random attack - aerial - weave - piercing rupture - tendon slice - weave - final strike - crashing blow ! did this on rwina with his hp set ( ~11k hp ) and he died on final strike :p . But this combo can do like 5k dmg or 13k dmg ( depends on nyerkty crit rng .. )

AH = aetherhold,yeah.
Instead of see what I have in my gear as stones people throw something like: you are bad and I can beat this glad with 30e HP set and MB staff
PS: Oh,the HP set and MB advice... naaaahhh,it's more challenging with mres
