this video is less zergy. kinda more of a raid vs raid type action. although a bit of smaller group action in the first bit.


i'll upload the video with the earlier stuff from tonight with part just me ted adn tepi and part with some rando guild group doing a camp and stuff that has some overlap with the start of this video.


anyways i think i like staff better than scepter/dagger now.

I wish I was able to be on the same server. I did some PvE b.c I could get into PvP everytime I tried i would get disconnected. So hopefully next beta things will go better for me. I thought I would like Guardian but I did not. I actually like engineer a lot, I felt my ability to move around while casting was much better served as an engineer. I saw myself missing support spells as a guardian maybe that was due to other people I was with would run around like chickens with heads cut off but it seemed much easier as an engineer for me to contribute.

yeah it's a shame you couldn't join us sm. i just hope everyone enjoyed trying out the game. though it's hard to see the potential in teh combat from just the pve alone.

here's the first proper video from tonight's action.

this is more the small group stuff. some dolyaks and a supply camp a bit of some pvp over a tower.

the camps are doable with a group of 3 i'd say. and can cut off an enemy's supply lines in other parts of the map.

nyerked up the rendering on teh 2nd video then nyerked it up again lol so it'll takea bit more time.

Yea I just hope the next beta will go better for me, but I dont know if they are going to wipe the characters so I might be stuck

best pvp i've ever had in an mmo (wvw).

I've done quite a lot of instanced pvp too, but i dont think its done yet, specially because there are water pvp weapons and i didnt see any underwater areas on the maps available.


There are balance issues, sure. But the game is in beta and so i dont think balance is the main thing right now.

i ended up like staff better than scepter dagger, especially for wvw. i think i migh tbe saying that yet again, but yeah, i really like staff now. need to go play with skill builder and see if i can come up with some early trait and signet builds to go with it.

have to look at non fire attunements to use with it as well. since i was taking air before to go with + runspeed while a dagger is equipped from air traits.

Played for a bit on Friday, was okay.

WvW is definitely the main attraction hopefully they can flesh it out and expand on it.

The Cap points pvp was as dull and disappointing as I expected, but it's a pvp style that I've learned to hate over the years. Also the the whole painting everyone's armor bright red or bright blue is an eyesore to the extreme.

PvE was meh, but it's early leveling. Quests are just the same thing given differently. It is nice not having to port all the time to turn in, but I still found myself having to port for the story Q quite a lot.

Altogether it's definitely not bad for an early beta. The graphics are a bit rough and the game definitely still needs a lot of polish.

It doesn't feel like Guild Wars at all though, which while expected, was still disappointing.

i saw alot of qq that it wasn't more like/exactly like gw1 on the forums and in irc.


i was wondering what people were expecting based on even a single 2 minute video in the last 2 years of the game.
