Don't Panic

It's a petunia and not a whale. At any rate, we've been getting a few different questions over and over and so I wanted to cover this in one thread for people to read. All information was obtained from the Gameforge CM BlackVelvet.

  • The website doesn't look secure. Should I login to it? The answer at the moment appears to be that the website is not secure, so don't login to it. If you must login on the website, then make sure you're on a private network so that the chance of another person potentially getting your information is minimized. We have communication in with Gameforge that this needs to be fixed ASAP.
  • I signed up, but my validation email doesn't seem to be arriving? This has been partially fixed, but there are still some issues. Please be patient as they are working on it.
  • What do I do if I forgot to opt into the move? There is a post-launch opt in that NCsoft has said they'll offer to people. However, the late transfers will tend to take a few days to process, so don't expect immediate results.
  • I joined the new UK server Munin. Why is everybody speaking German? Well, it's because you've got some old out-of-date server name information and you're on the new German server instead of the new English server. You need to follow the instructions in our thread on the subject to fix it. If you have the wrong L10N folder you also apparently get the Korean store when clicking on the in game store.
  • I am a veteran and logged in. I have 0 coins, but I should have more. What's up? Gameforge is still dealing with technical issues and other issues related to post-launch. The conversion of coins is going to occur later. We don't yet have the conversion date, but maybe later in the week as other stuff calms down.
  • This download is stuck or taking forever, what should I do? Wait or try tomorrow. There's just a nyerk load of people trying to get the download right now and things are over capacity.
  • I'm having login problems on the website, what should I do? It is only possible to login your account on the website with small letters. If you have an account containing Upper case letters, please write them in Lower case. This is not intended and will be fixed as well.
  • I am having technical issue X and need help. What should I do? You can try asking your question here on AionSource and we will do our best to answer. If we have no clue, Gameforge is just getting customer support set up and so expect things to be rocky, but we do have a site for them: http://aion-en.custhelp.com/

Nickname stealing : NCsoft did something about it when they fused servers, on the new GF servers, a lot of people had their nickname owned on lv 1 char just to prevent them to use it, they'll do something or I can gtfo ? :snowman:

All my previously bought stuff (Worg, Shugo Lad etc) as well as competition rewards and rewards for the 12 month Aion Magazine Sub are unavailable as bonuses despite how they said only the Veteran Rewards system would be taken down.

Will I get this stuff back, or shall I consider them lost?

Had some gruwesome lag yesterday afternoon, but that cleared near the end of the day and I actually managed to play a while without problems. My ~1.5 year old kinnah from auctions were even still collectable at the broker! Good job so far :)

Its funny. Because well let me describe the situation:

I know the problems that a db implementation can bring. I dont understand it and well there is obviously an idea behind: How can u make a mistake at turning free game time that we had on ncsoft to coins? Its obvious that u will force ppl to buy gold accounts i.e. buy coins with money to buy the gold packets.

Well, idiots will swallow this, for me its just a bad way to get the first fast money.

2nd: People are actually buying coins or subscribtions ("AION Club") and are not getting their 3 gold packages. So what is the idea behind this? I got shown that i could deliver 3 gold packages. After the 2nd the 3rd dissapeared. Ok..

Then: Since its a bugful start your introducing your new support page. Well ok. We created accounts there and wrote tickets. Since yday morning i didnt hear from 1 response. So what about that?

There are too many things which are going wrong, very wrong at the moment. Coins are not getting transfered to the account, ppl are paying or making subs and getting charged but dont get the benefits.

What u want to do with the ppl who bought gold packs with coins or subs and didnt get them and are sitting on the high cooldowns? Half of my team is pissed of and sitting around with high cooldowns because the gold pack delivery didnt happen. Thats just disgusting and annoying for people who paid for this for years. Good that u have tested the shop for 2? or 3? days at the beta.

In my eyes the servers are up, database got copied, and the shop is "not working", the game time transfer to coins "didnt work :((((((( " ... yea..

Tiru are you expecting a compensation for the mess up or delay ?

I do belive that it's against gameforge poilicy ... maybe they changed that policy but from what i can see so far...it's prety much the same crap as it was before. So despite what blackelvet advertised time and again here ... old habits are hard to loose XD

Maybe they just started on the wrong foot, after all they depended on Ncsoft for the transition ...

I dont care about the ncsoft side of the medal.. ur not getting it.

Im just pissed that the -> time to coin transition didnt work (so ppl have to spend money for the gold packs hurray)

and that the shop is bugged as hell... your buying coins or sub with the club and are not getting the benefits for whatever..

Just think of it man. Whats the next step after u dont get gold pack?

High cooldowns... and now check which shop part is already completed.... surprise... the cooldown reset scrolls.

Its just annoying as hell when u realize that its some tactic behind. And velvet can tell what she wants. Its just a joke that sometimes orders go through and sometimes not, its a joke aswell that they didnt transfer the "coins" from ncsoft yet. So there is basically something behind... sorry.

Honestly in talking with them the whole thing sounds nightmarish from their side. I doubt that it's on purpose other than the order in which things are getting fixed (which would be on purpose as they impose the order).

They obviously were not prepared for what was going to happen on launch day, even with the beta stuff.

I hate being the devil's advocate here nobody, but, I will XD

Gameforge is currently one of the biggest publishers in Europe in terms of gaming. They started off with basic browser games with huge databases behind to run them...so yeha they got the know how, thing is that with Gameforge it's always bad planing and to litle people to do the tasks. Also support has always been one of the weak points in Gameforge, if you thought NCSoft support was bad (wich I never thought) then with Gameforge you will go nuts as most of the time is simply pointless (kinda like talking to a brick wall in a foreign language).

My girlfriend and me both had the same issue.
Account successfully created and validation email received.

When clicking on the validation link, we get :
'Unfortunately your account could not be validated.'
(We tried with every kind of browser, we always get the same message)

We can connect to the game and play, but we are not able to connect to the site and upgrade the accounts to veteran (with our close beta keys)
I sent an email to gameforge support, they didn't have time to reply yet.

Anyone else having the same kind of issue?
Will the account be deleted because it was not validated for a long time?
Any clue how they will solve this?

i also dont want to be some kinda gameforge hater but calling it 1 of the bigest pulishers who has games like ikariam and so on...

simply gameforge or i can say failforge was not ready to accept such a game.

To reply on this:
There will no longer be a master account. All account-bound items including NCSoft Store items, items from magazines and veteran rewards will be all be assigned through the item shop in the future. It just needs to be implemented first. Don't worry, the items aren't lost, you just don't have access to them currently.

Still no asnwer about the payed gold coins that never got added to the account? Its 48 hours now from the time i bought the Aion coins and got the confirmation email.
