SOMEONE somewhere managed to get my info such as address and full name + email. They sent a request for the password under the excuse they had forgotten it. NCSOFT sent the email to me for verification and I told them to trace the IP and perma ban it. Just wondering if I've been targeted or it's a mass operation going on right now?

Probably Keylogged. Someone else had this happen to them as well, except when the hacker was asked by NCsoft to give them info, he said he could not remember it and they proceeded to change the password/pin without asking the original account holder for verification lol...

I haven't played the game in nearly a year, in the email it specifically says ' i lost my cd key, please reset the password as I want to play Aion now it's F2P '. How the hell this guy got my information relating to Aion at such a random time when I've been inactive is just strange. I've recently just moved as well and this person has my updated address.

NCSOFT have replied to me saying they've perma blocked the account as someone tried to get in, in the email they have a link to reset the password, in a response I can see this son of a nyerk still talking to them telling them to reset it. I wonder if he got the reset link as well. He's got my unique ID code, is this how he's convincing NCSOFT that it's his account?

aion phshing mails have started going out again and they may seeem similar to legit aion emails, but noteriously have malformed links.

they'll say stuff like your pwd has been reset from x ip address adn to log in to confirm it's not you.

Yeah I avoided clicking any links, I logged in on the ncsoft support page where you can view your ticket history and communicated through there.

It's a separate log-in so this person has managed to only log into my support account(which is old) and not my game account which has a different password. Now ncsoft want to call me and make sure it's me.

Oooooh, that's interesting. I wonder if their support site had a security issue in the past. Because unless the person had access to your email or you were using the same email/password combo on other sites, the only ways they could have gotten the information would have been to have access to your computer (keylogger or they were able to get information from the support site itself.

And if I remember correctly, you can use a different email on a support ticket than you use for your account.

assuming no keylogger, you give your personal info out to any friends/clanmembers before? link them to your facebook or something? Share your account before and have the same password as your email? It's really easy to get people's personal information these days if you have ever put it up anywhere online.

It's possible a former clan member got in there, however, the person stated my new address which I haven't used on ncsoft sites since moving. I don't even have a real address on my ncsoft page I just made up a U.S address because I'm from the UK and when beta started wasn't sure if they'd let me play. So this person has managed to extract my info from somewhere else unrelated to Aion. Remember he had my ncsoft ID, I don't know how you can get that without logging in?

It all seems to be fine now though, once ncsoft bother to call me I should have my account back.

sounds like you were compromised somewhere very recently and they were trying to clean you out.

I'm now having a battle with the admin who runs support for the accounts.

Although I have all the information to prove it's my account, because the account was originally created in America by a clan mate (pre-Aion beta) to avoid any IP block that was being discussed at the time it does look like account trading... all that was done through was account setup in America, it was still my cd keys being used that I still have. I don't know if he'll understand that.

Edit** Got my account back, going to download 3.0 now
