Totally agree with this, SMs being able to dispell scrolls is one of the most stupid thing ever made in this game, what fear, the most OP thing is that freaking dispell (which can't even be resisted with resist skills).

About the topic, both NA and EU versions are "pay to get advantages" at the moment (who would have ever guessed that?) with the difference that the NA version requires you to pay more to get the same/way better advantages, meanwhile the EU version requires you to pay (less) in order to actually play the "real" game (new player point of view, for an old/geared player the EU version is way better since it allows him to fully enjoy the game by just spending 10m kinah per month).

Said that, both publishers could add "gamebreaking" items anytime, so it's useless to try to guess what NCWest will add/do.
So, even if Gameforge has some big issues (launcher replacing language packs, possible unsecure website, no relase date for the 3.0) the NCWest version is all but better (more "unbalanced" Cash Shop already from the start, insane ping for an EU player, Pando Media Booster, really? i would rather not play than install that crap on my pc).

Resist skills are in fact buffs, therefore they can be debuffed. I don't get why there's so much complaint about this in the first place. SMs were introduced as a Debuff/CC class but fears and dispels are apparently as forbidden as Avada Kedavra.

Resist skills which allows you to resist both magical and physical skills, but since SMs are SMs, Dispells are not magical or physical, they're just somekind of "unknow thing", totally makes sense.

All in all, if you had read my post Ice you would have read that it all depends on the kind of Gameplay you wish to have. If you want to level fast and get stuff faster you need the gold pack (be it bought in-game or at the shop), if you want to play casual...you don't need it.

I'll tell you what, in light of your example, I don't have the gold pack ... you buy the gold pack, we meet in the abyss a month from now and I own your ass in ways you haven't even imagined. Why? Because I have played for over 2 years now and I have gained more than you will in the next year...so in the end ...Life's a biatch and then u die (This is how good your example was).

Regarding all the butt hurt I have been seeing here over the SM's, they are a class like any other in game, they have pros and they have cons, but in the end a good player will know how to kill them or in case theyr class is severely impaired when going against them will know how to avoid them (specially a class with HIDE). So stop being cry babies over the big bad SM's and look onto how you could improve when going against them.

Ok, true! I've played a little bit more then a year! I could also play for a few months and I would still kick your ass after a month with me having the gold pack and you .. naked! Stop acting like you know everything. No you don't and neither do I. But I know what makes the difference between Starter/Veteran and Gold Pack. And if you are to blind to see the difference, then you should not play the game. I don't care if you play the game for 2 hours a day. I am talking about the "majority" here. You even pay for Gold Pack, or you quit playing ( or, play for 2 hours a day as a starter/veteran like you and who then say will kick my ass after 1 month ( me having Gold Pack ) ).
It seems you never learned in those 2 years, that gear matter like 90% in a fight!

EDIT: Ok, it seems you have been talking that you will kick my ass with your 2 years character. Is that right? If yes, please don't even try to quote me again. I was talking about who will win in a fight, if player A does not have gold pack and player B have it, but of course, the same level's, same period of play time and so on.

I'm not crying about anything, i just gave my opinion/agreed with someone else about a stupid/senseless thing of that class, that's what forums are for if you didn't notice, if you don't want to read other people opinions then don't use any forum, hence, keep the improve/l2p things for yourself.

You didn't answer my question! Hence, I will put another one : Do you have a Gold Pack on the Aion EU? If yes, then it means you Pay 2 Win my friend. So your thread is useless, unless you have something OTHER then P2W think with NcSoft.
I do hate NcSoft myself, for the simple fact that they sold ( yes they sold ) my character/account to the so called "The best company to hold and publish Aion in EU", without any choices! And I hate companies who does NOT give you choices. Same goes for GF. They are like : You even pay for Gold Pack if you want to enjoy the game like you used to, or play a demo/trial/etc . They don't give me any choices here. They somehow *force* you to buy Gold Pack, while at NcSoft ( even if I hate them for what they did with the EU accounts ) , they simple let you enjoy the game with no restriction ( like you used with ), and OPTIONALLY you can buy whatever items you want from their cash shop. This is the difference between GF and Ncsoft.
For me, I want to be able to choose, and not to be forced. If you like Aion EU, that's fine. But don't , just don't say that is better then NcSoft. Both are *evil companies*, but I prefer to choose the *less evil* one, which is NcSoft from my point of view.

Ice Age tbh I think you and konkers must have been taking vacation together when inteligence got distributed on earth... that is the only reasonable explanation I can find for the both of you to keep contradicting urselfs.

it was pretty obvious all this minus maybe the weapon thing was going to happen if any of you had glanced at the lineage 2 cash shop when i linked it in a prior news thread on this subject about what you woul docnsider pay 2 win.

it seems like an obvious line of action given a company with prior cash shop games converts another game to cash shop based, you would look at those other games to get an idea of what they will do with the new conversion.


anyways, this is pretty average for a cash shop game, better than average for a freemium conversion from p2p to f2p, in some regards.

can vertainly think of more restrictive and peanlaizing freemium cash shop games out there, from ddo to lotro and dcuo and eq2.

tbh the other year when tradeable weapon skins were added to the shop, people were raging hard about how them being tradeable was pay2win/ legitimized rmt. now you guys say that being tradeable makes it ok.


eitherway, combat buff items in cash shops is a pretty typical cash shop item. i can really think of any f2p game i've played without them except perhaps exteel. and it had OP 30 day rental for irl cash active abilities that kids would spend theri allowance on then do nothing but spam them(while i owned them with fully free kit).

cash shop weapons? nto totally out of line either, and many f2p players would argue that if the weapons are obtainable in game through totally non paid means then it's not pay2win either.

aion is all about max profit for least cost. always has been since day 1. pretending to be surrpised by this now in 2012 is frankly nyerking hilarious. after every single major patch to this game you still thought they wouldn't do a pretty typical cash shop for aion?

i mean what were you kids thinking they would sell in there? dreams and self esteem boosters?

Did he started from scratch on the EU servers on GF's administration? If so, kudos to him. Now, if he already got all his gear (meaning fully PvP geared) and is playing just for the PvP, then I agree, because it doesn't affects him.

I can't even look up his character on that crappy website, lol.

But we are talking about people that need to gear up. People that are leveling, that still need to run instances, and more important, the new players that will start from scratch. You can't even begin to compare the two stores if you consider those facts.

You guys do realize that the reason this is news is specifically because NA did what they said they would not do. Gameforge never said anything of the sort. That's why they aren't news. Though I think the state of their security at this point is still news... I just don't get why that all isn't fixed yet.

They merged Anet and NC Soft leadership at some point, however looking at how they run GW 1 makes me wonder if there is still different divisions that run things. GW's cash shop is quite reasonable. Perhaps it's because weapons in GW don't matter as much, so you can't bribe people by offering splendid weapons.
