Since GF is too slow in translating and NA has high ping. Let me introduce guide for russian official server.
First, registration
Go to http://aion.ru/play/ and download launcher:

Run program



and you will see



Press button
Check your e-mail. You should receive mail from Фогейм <notice@4game.com>



Next step



and last one



Install
You can press 1 button if you already have NA client or press 2 for full download



Enter the path for client and hit two checkboxes



Wait for download, and then press play to run client



You can play using russian client, but you may use translation from NA download and unzip to L1on folder

Keep in mind Aion.ru is p2p game, but you will have trial for 10 levels

Russian server will be updated to 3.5 in autumn 2012. Also, they got update 3.0 in March 2012.

Also they have a custom client side protection with weekly updates called "Frost"
afaik kinda impossible to bypass by bots/hacks

Nah that won't work, I tried battleping already in the past, it made no difference. I'm not so far from the servers, but I'm offshore in a touristical island, we got really crappy inet (I'm on 10/0.8 mbit, best you can get here is 20/1); doing a trace shows most of the latency is just to reach the mainland, then from there on the few steps from land gateway to the servers are a much smaller gap. Basically I'm nyerked living here doomed to ~200 ping unless I move out.

Is there a live profiles feature in their website? Couldn't find anything; would love to add support for Russian servers to my dps meter then, as it should work fine with the English patch.

Its tempting, but then I think about all those grind and nyerk to reach lvl 60 and have acceptable gear.

Also I have exams atm, 1 day after my last exam I go on holiday and I will come back in the end of august. 3.0 will come in September, so not worth it for me...

Even though you patch the client to English, it remains an MMO and most people will talk in Russian to you.

They don't have live profiles feature. I do not think that profiles will be useful for you because the site is in Russian.
