we merged with another guild for gw2. with the arrangments we made and the trailing out of each other so far, it should work out alot better for both guilds than the merge with DT.


for example we can tell all our bad jokes and use any bad words we want to again.

part of our arrangement with them was to use the HoM name. if you look at the rules and ranks they just posted on the news section of the HoM site, you may notice it's heavily based on the rules and ranks FT uses for example- though i wasn't the one writing these up.

I'd advertise my guild, but all the officers are over 28, married to a hot woman, have kids, and we have a PG-13 environment in our vent. Somehow, I doubt folks on here would be interested in such a group.

That said, Borlis Pass, friends. I'll be lobbing ground targetted turrets in wPvP if anyone needs to find me.

well it would help if i knew even what yoru guild name was and where to refer people we run into that prefer pg13 vent

Hopefully guesting works well enough that WvW is the only thing that is really tied down on servers.

Everyone I know is picking different servers.

Knights in Dwayna's Service (aka KIDS) is a guild from the original Guild Wars. Initially the original five we were all officers in a guild called "Defenders of Faith", however we left en masse for two reasons:

1) We were tired of doing all the work for the Guild while the leader did nothing.
2) The leader was actually the leader of THREE DIFFERENT GUILDS. No wonder we hardly saw him.

So we all left, and two others left with us. We formed our own group, with the five of us remaining officers, and one of us being the nominal leader. Our Guild grew a fair amount, and we kept on rolling in GW 1. The five of us all rolled separate main classes intentionally, so that way every role was filled. All told, a good amount of time was invested.

We stopped playing GW 1, and played few games here or there over the years. But really, we've been waiting for GW 2 for awhile now.

The core group of us are five dudes with families, and of course all hold down full-time jobs. Three other guys have joined us already, two from our GW 1 days and another from WoW. Four of us have young children, so it makes scheduling things interesting. But for the most part, we ran things often enough.

As you may have guessed, we're a pretty casual Guild. We have skills mind you, but with the offline commitments we have it doesn't lend itself to no-lifing.

We're a PG-13 Guild, nothing too racy on the Vent or chat. Family friendly, with a certain level of maturity. That's probably why y'all won't be too interested, not due to maturity, but you guys probably want more adult style humor.

Anyway, that's our story. if you run into KIDS, hijinks will no doubt ensue!

And again, if you see me I'll be tossing turrets like softballs. Love that trait!

You remember how they used acronyms in GW 1, right? We were looking at trying to figure out a name for the Guild, and we wanted one that tied into the lore and stuff while ALSO maybe being a cool acronym. Someone suggested using one of the human gods, and I said "Knights in Dwayna's Service, then we'd be called KIDS".

Yeah, it was my idea. So if people hate the name, shut up and I'll ban you!

Immediate winner. Made even more fun when we wholesale would join alliance battles and there would be a huge posse of toons with KIDS tags.

what would you know reflex? you played with us when we were still with DT.


i don't mind taking on another guild's name if it means more people to play with.


we didn't merge with anyone for tsw and recruits left or QQed about lack of in guild people ot group with in their time slots.

merge allows for there to be a larger base of in guild players to group up with in different time slots.


it also takes alot of pressure off me to spend all my in game time doing nothing but recruitment and guild management stuff.


it's all nice and good to nyerk about having to not use the FT name, or having to listen to other people's directions or even qq about rules and such that are posted by someone else even if i was actively involved in crafting them and they are effectively the same as our existing rules anyways.

btu at the end of the day, the time to hav enyerked about this was months ago now, and the only person when i sought council on it that piped up was tepi, and i understood why he dissented on it.

as lead though, as my co lead says, the best thing about being captain is being able to ask for advice without having to follow it.
