Pando Media booster is a peer to peer program that acts like a torrent for your Aion game files. Some users may unfortunately suffer from lag as it tends to leech bandwidth without the user's permission. Also, various malware may attach itself to Pando. If you're a person that doesn't want to deal with programs that install themselves without your permission, then you should be aware that Pando is NOT necessary for Aion, although the NCsoft West launcher will try to tell you otherwise.

You can uninstall the program if you don't want it around through the regular Windows methods (Control Panel, Programs and Features). Keeping the launcher from asking for it to be installed is also very easy.

Installation can be disabled easily via changes in a file. Please note that the file you need to edit depends on your install directory and you can use notepad or wordpad to edit it as a straight text file (don't use Word or it's likely to change the file format). Mine is in: C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\Launcher\Config\Default

You must change the follow instances of the P2P item to false rather than true. There are a couple of instances in the file.

After changing all the P2P instances to false, then you just need to start up the launcher as normal. It will no longer ask for Pando Media Booster to be installed.

idk why companies even use that nyerk. it's so obnoxiously bad in pretty much every way. it's like they mindlessly go with the cheapest gaming peer to peer client possible as soon as they go freemium.

I fail to understand the thought process of choosing a program which anyone with a clue detests, and in doing so they will piss of a large amount of their users/customers. Just gives people more reason to dislike them.
