So yeah, I'm new to these forums but not to Aion. When Aion first launched, I was one of those "Oh gee, it's WoW/LotRO/EQ with wings...think I'll pass." players. I basically ignored the game for the first couple of years it was available in the US, then when I became bored of the MMO's I was playing early this year, I decided to check it out.

I decided I really liked the game and became a subscriber for my first few months, and I was playing when it went FTP. Then real life got in the way for about half a year and I basically ignored the game until last month. When I returned, I discovered that a lot of had changed in Aion, some things for the better, others not so much. I have to wonder if NCSoft really thinks a mount, even one of the cool ones, is really worth forty or fifty bucks US. I'm not sure I do. I'd like to have one, but I'm just not sure I want to spend what I would have on half a year's game time before the game went FTP just to get one.

That said, I must admit I'm having fun with this game again. Normally, I start a new MMO, play for a while, then move on to something else, never to return. On occasion, I've revisited a game that's gone FTP in my absence to see what it's like in its new model, but Aion is the first game I've come back to that I've felt compelled to stick with for more than a few days. There's always something new, interesting, and challenging to do in Aion, unlike other games like Fallen Earth, where I've actually run out of stuff to do at a level that's challenging and left the game because of it.

I've been a solo player for most of my time in Aion, though not necessarily by choice. The one time I did join a legion the focus seemed to be all about getting up to level 60 as fast as humanly possible to participate in PvP. As much as I enjoy PvP, I also enjoy PvE and solo play. When I didn't log in for just three days (like most people, I do have something of a life outside of gaming), I was summarily booted from the legion without even so much as a "Hey, how ya doing?".

So after a few weeks back, I've got my Glad just about to ding level 41. I'm Expert level in alchemy, and currently running around Heiron doing solo missions. I'm looking to join a legion that's a bit more laid back than my first one, more about helping each other through tough missions than totally focused on building the strongest PvP force in the game. So, if you're reading this and know of a legion that fits the bill, please reply or PM me, I'm interested.

I'm also willing to help stock the legion warehouse by using my alchemy skills. I'm not especially kinah-rich, but if the legion can supply the mats I'd need, I'm more than happy to put my skills to use to make useful stuff. Since we can now have two Expert skills I'll also be working up my Weaponsmithing as time goes on and I'll be happy to use that to the legion's advantage as well.

Anyway, so that's me. I've decided to get more seriously into this game because it fits the way I like to play. sometimes solo, sometimes grouping with good people. And oh yeah, because I really enjoy it, too. Now, if NCSoft would bring those BCM prices down to something approaching actually affordable in the real world, I'd be freaking ecstatic.
