So what do we make of this? And what will become of NCWest, ArenaNet/Guild Wars 1 & 2, and Aion and Lineage 2? Not to mention, what will become of NCSoft's large pile of shuttered IPs like Tabula Rasa, Auto Assault, Dungeon Runners, and City of Heroes? (Speaking of which, maybe this deal is why CoH was shuttered in the first place-- wasn't it the only NC title reporting directly to NC Korea instead of NCWest? Maybe keeping it running would have gotten in the way of this deal happening?)
And how is some new company going to control EU where Innova already publishes Lineage 2 EU and GameForge already publishes Aion EU?

seems from what i am reading NCsoft EU and NCsoft NA will become one which in fact means there be running all there games for the western market from one company. which maybe means good news for aion EU we will have to see whats the news brings.

Or more likely it's a restructuring to gain some money for new projects after they bled so much cash from a string of bad decisions ?
If I were you I'd not get my hopes up and very carefully go figure out who exactly runs this new entity ... you might not like what you find though, because I have a sneaking suspicion Nexon or more parasitic companies of their ilk will have a big finger in the pie.

it's just accounting mumbo jumbo.
most likely will be the same people running the show as before.
it's just a legal way to cook the books more or less. hollywood does this kind of nyerk all the time.
as for management of their existing properties in EU that they've licensed out to other companies like GF, what about this implies those licenses would change because of this?
i'll tell you- nothing about it implies that whatsoever.
ncsoft is and always has been a very ROI oriented company. they spend as little money as possible for as high a return as possible. what about aion pre-GF in particular makes you think otherwise? they dumped it on GF because they figured it would return more than it would cost them on an ongoing basis, otherwise they will keep pumping out updates as cheaply as possible just liek the 1.0 version of the game was made as cheaply as possible.
]ofc lucky for you guys they ddi dump it on some half assed slack jaw company like GF at all, because usually ncsoft would rather close their games than anything else. they most likely made aion go f2p and offloaded out of sentiment for the product rather than the usual "oh this game is still profitable but it's not meeting expectations so we're closing it completely".
no one at ncsoft gives a single nyerk about you guys' problems with GF's management either. if GF fails to deliver the expected ROI to ncsfot, nc will just not renew the license and close the game in europe rather than give a single nyerk about your feels or wants as gamers and consumers.
just be glad aion eu gf isn't managed as nyerktily as gw2 is.

I said this is shoutbox, but I suppose I should also write it down here.
Didn't it strike anybody as odd that the date set for all this to happen is the 24th? The day before Christmas in the USA and the day of Christmas in Korea?
TJ Kim's wife is the CEO of NCsoft West. Given that little bit of data, I am giving a guess that the restructure is something that their family wants. It's highly doubtful that it will change their operations in any way we can see for the immediate future.
Nyx already posted the official company line:
"As part of NCSOFT’s ongoing efforts to become a stronger global company, we are making adjustments to ensure that our western teams and games are more independent and more agile. These efforts have no effect on NCSOFT, ArenaNet or Carbine employees, nor will they have any effect on current titles or those in development. "
Edit: I also have received information from other sources that NCsoft West employees were notified that they shouldn't notice any operational differences.
