so much false 'knowledge'...
Aion = CryEngine v1.0 with Modifications
The CryEngine was (aside from Quake³) one of the first GraphicEngines using MultiProcessors.
And Claiming this Engine does not or did not utilize the Hardware very well it should be added that the original Engine did utilize Hardware at the very Limits - just the modifications needed to make a FPSshooter-Engine run a WideAreaMultiplayerMMOenvironment were poorly implemented.
Truth is that the original FarCry Netcode(latency/impact/etc.), responsible for the Lags in Aion most of the time, was a huge pile of crap!
Even when Playing FarCry, which came out 2004, some years later on a 2006 Highend Computer on which the Singleplayer would run at 60+fps, in the Multiplayr there was lagging/ghosting just like what we ve been experiencing in AION for 4yrs now(ye some of us played Asia *trollbrag*)
BUT THERE IS HOPE!
If you use your virtual magnifying glasses you might be able to find a certain Site with not only explanations about how to tweak Aion via configmodifation within the rules of the engine itself and not hacking at all(not talking about fov lolz), but if you get really luckyyou might be able to also find a -cfg-File that was made and also famous for being able to run much much smoother and with more FPS through the old school sieges in abyss while also not having to use Shift+f12 while at the saem time bringing out the max possible looks in Aion(better looks + more fps + no hacking) and that .cfg was made for a Core2duo6400+NV68xx+2GB sys...
