As a lot of you know there are a few threads with Aions system requirements on the forums. A lot of people still don't know, if they are the real ones or not. So with that I'm making this thread to help people figure out what they are.

Has of right now I know there are two different system requirements post around the web. One is by K-NCSoft and one is posted by gamestop/NCSoft West. Now if it were me I would go with the K-NCSoft requirements because they made the game. But hey that's just me. All the requirements are right off the sites. So here they are.

If you are not sure if your computer can run the game hop over to one of the two list I'm going to list. They will test your computer to see if you can run Aion or not.

The first one is going to be Game-O-Meter. Game-O-Meter is a Produced By FutureMark Corporation. FutureMark are the ones who made 3DMark.

Here are the steps:

  • Go to this link: YouGamers - Games - Aion: The Tower of Eternity

  • Click on 'System Requirements'. It is right next to 'Game index'.

  • There is going to be a big blue button that says 'Can you play it? Compare your system to the requirements. Click here!' Click it.

  • It's going to ask if you want to 'Start the Game-O-Meter' Scroll down a little and click 'Start'. Don't click 'Skip analysis'

  • A little box is going to pop up and ask if you want to run this program. Click on 'RUN'

  • Give it a few minutes. It's not going to take longer then five.

  • After its done it will tell you if your computer passed or not.

All right, well my apologies for earlier. I did some of my own research and discovered there's enough core evidence that 30 GB is the minimum space required.

I find that extremely un-reliable. North American NC Soft themselves said that 15 GB would be the requirements. That's really not a good sign to me of their reliability.

Anyways, thanks for this post. I'm sure it'll help a lot of people :)

Cheers~

P.S. Main reason why I'm upset is because I'm running a mac, and now I have to completely re-install Windows XP on my computer because NA-NC Soft wasn't reliable enough to give accurate information to make enough space on my Windows Partition to run Aion. I don't even know if I can run this game at all on my current computer now that I find out it's double of what was the original "requirements". >_>

If i meet or exceed the recommended requirements except in the Ghz area will i still be able to run the game with fairly minimal log, or will there be too many latency and lagging issues. if so what will i need to do to increase the Ghz in my computer? plz reply thanks!!

During the beta I was running max settings with an Athlon 64 X2 5600+, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, and a GeForce 8800GTS 768MB. I got an average of 40 fps, with the occasional dip here and there (which is to be expected from a beta build). Looking great so far! The cool thing is, it will probably improve throughout the course of the beta as the game is optimized for retail. I can't wait! <3

With a e8400 and a nV gtx260 is was regularly getting 100+ fps with all sliders maxxed.

As to HD space. The install from the NA beta was 7.82 GB. I expect that to grow some with later updated versions, but no where close to 30GB.

Why does the game use sooo much disk space?

I am using a 2.2 Ghz Quad core Phenom..... and the game works fine

Minimum System Specifications:

Microsoft Windows XP SP2
*2.8GHz CPU or equivalent
1GB RAM
NVIDIA 5900 Ultra with 128MB RAM / ATI x700 with 128MB RAM or higher
**15GB Hard Disk space
DVD-ROM drive
Direct X 9.0c (6/2008 update)
Sound Device
Broadband Internet Connection

Recommended System Specifications:

Microsoft Windows XP SP2 / Vista
*Dual Core CPU 2.0GHz or equivalent
2GB RAM
NVIDIA 6800 with 256MB RAM / ATI x800 with 256MB or higher
**15GB Hard Disk space
DVD-ROM drive
Direct X 9.0c (6/2008 update)
Sound Device
Broadband Internet Connection

*Please be aware that on AMD processors the model number does not represent the actual CPU speed. A good list of AMD processor speeds can be found here. For example the Athlon XP 3200+ runs at 2.2GHz - which is below the minimum requirements.

**NTFS file system is required for the digital download.
I'm confused how this works though. I understand American NC Soft says the game is 15 GB but the Korean one says it's 30 GB. How can it be smaller if we're starting pretty close to them in patches? =/

If you can't meet the CPU requirement, it is time to upgrade your 5 year old computer.

Korea also considered temporary files during install and unpacking.

I tried it out on both my pc and laptop.

While it is possible to play on laptop (2g ram, vista 32, 1.8 dual core, on board graphics) it is jerky, and the breath-taking graphics are totally lost. I also only had 15g of HDD free and didn't appear to have trouble with it, although it was only beta version!

I think, though, i'm just spoiled by my PC (quad core, 4g ram, nvida 9600gt, vista 64, 300gig free) as i started playing on that so poking around on my laptop wasn't nearly as fun!

Hmm... my laptop meets or surpasses all the recommended requirements on paper (including the graphics card - GeForce 8400M), but I still worry a bit because laptops seem to not get along with games in general as well as their desktop equivalents. (Unless, of course, you have a gaming machine, which mine is not.) Has anyone successfully played Aion on a laptop, with graphics turned up to a reasonably pretty level?

Sorry if this is a dumb question; I freely admit that I know just enough to get myself in trouble. :P

If the Beta works fine on your computer do you think the actual game will?

I'm hoping this runs on my lappy. My bro's best PC ran it no problem Max Detail.

My Lappy is 2.3 Dual Core AMD Turion X2 Ultra 64
4gb Ram

With Radeon HD 4530 with 512mb.

Think this might cut it or too untrustworthy with Laptops?

Played a whole bunch of other MMOs on this probably Lineage 2 being the most graphics boasting (got LUNA Online and Monato Espirt which are fairly graphical) and runs them all fine at max settings but they are either oldish games or not graphic intensive like Aion

What do you think?

Except you'll need a hell of a lot more HD space.

Frankly, it will run smooth for about the first half of the game when you are not encountering a ton of people but once the open pvp starts you may lag like an old race horse on vallium.
