So do I have to download ~5gb or ~5+8gb to be able to play next friday? Still confused because some people claimed it to be 5+8 earlier. Because if its 13gb I dont have enough time to download it with my 1mb connection lol

You download the compressed the 5.25GB client only.

You extract it to obtain the full 8Gb client as the guide suggests. After that you don't need the compressed file.

I,l try updating the guide to include other installation problems when i have time.

Aion Launcher dont let me download EU version of Aion , but i can download Aion US version, even if i change to EUROPE from options. Can i download US version and can join Aion EU with this full Aion US client ? I tried to seach forums but couldnt find a topic or guide about this. Pls can u share if u know the solution here. thx

Both NA and EU English clients are the same, choosing the region will only change the geographical location of the servers you play on.

So if you bought and activated a NA Aion account, you choose North America as a region.

Hey how's it going, i'm having an issue with the NA Aion dl. I've looked everywhere for a solution, tried multiple things, but no dice. I install the NCsoft launcher, click AION, hit install, it then says "Error During Last Operation" above the Install button on the launcher and the Aion installation window opens up. Then the downloader just sits at "Downloading install information..." and sits there forever. I've tried to hit the install button on the downloader, but I get the "System.InvalidOperationException: Not in readyToInstallState." error. After the error, I close it and it just goes back to "Downloading install Information...".

I've tried the hotfix solution, no dice. I've tried to download the zipped file the OP linked, but the url links to nothing. I've tried DLing the EU version, but it gives the "try again in a few minutes" error that the hotfix was intended to fix. Still got the error even with the new game.xml file... No idea what's up with it. Any ideas would help.

When i try to download the aion downloader (not the 5gb game part) i cannot get it to go past 0%. i am not sure why but it just does not go anywhere. at first when i downloaded it got to 77%, stopped, i paused it to resume download later and got to 99% and left it there over night and it never progressed. i tried re downloading it multiple times after and kept staying at 99%, but now i cannot even get it past 0%. help meh plz ^^

Hi everyone!

I am a bit confused because I am new to this type of game, but I pre-ordered from Amazon.co.uk because it looks just too stunning and beautiful to miss. Now you are really going to laugh at me probably. I received a key from Amazon.co.uk for the next beta event. I downloaded and patched the client and it downloaded the game, it says it's Aion US but I can see from earlier replies that this doesn't matter, even though I have an EU key. And I can even get to the login screen (even my McAfee firewall likes this game!), but when I login with my Aion account details, it says

"Sorry this account does not have access to Aion at this time"

Is this because the beta event doesn't start until Thursday 2nd July?

I did tell you I was silly, but I am very new to all this, and would be grateful for a bit of advice. Thanks in advance!

Don't worry, that's actually the error message you WANT to hear. :p
It means you will have access come the 2nd of July, but not right now because the servers are down.

However it means it recognizes your login details, so you've got your launcher region setup correctly. :)

How do you even get any login details because ncsoft page says "serial not yet active"?

I have no idea, we had no such thing until a few days ago, when people started reporting this. I can understand why it would give that message after you add that key (to keep people who don't read from thinking they can play beta outside beta weekends), but why it wouldn't let you add the key, period, I don't get...

You'll have to ask NCsoft or just keep trying until they let you add it.

Both my husband and I had the problem of the launcher restarting the download (assuming due to corrupt files), so I went to that link and downloaded the game client directly. When I extracted it with 7-Zip, the diagnostic messages window shows 848 lines of "File is broken" messages.

I've got it repairing from the launcher, but every time it runs into a corrupted file, I get an error (the same thing lillish got in post #65). It keeps happening until I download that specific file and get it going again. Shouldn't it be getting those files itself? Or am I going to have to manually download what appears to be hundreds of bad files?

I really want to be able to play on Thursday, but this is taking forever. We started all this on Saturday and I don't feel any closer to getting it done. I've never had anything close to this much trouble getting a game downloaded and installed. :(

Aleste, a very good guide indeed much appreciated! I have only one problem now; I cannot stop looking and staring at the log in screen. I just wish that I can log in and play straight away, guess I will have to wait some more time for the key.

Every time I try and download the game it downloads fine but when it starts to install I get this error message, "There was an error while extracting patch files. CRC error." I am trying to download the files manually from the link at the beginning but the download is taking a ridiculous amont of time. Has anyone had this problem? If so how did you fix it? I would greatly appreciate any help to fix this. Since I would like to beta test on Thursday.

I would just like to say a big thanx to Aleste this method worked perfectly!

I found the best speeds when downloading through flashget were from 10PM-2AM GMT+12 (someone can convert that to their time if they like), after said times though the download slowed down to a crawl.

Extraction went fine not a single error, installed through the launcher and had to apply a 24MB update, after that it didn't give me an option to repair or check consistency so I launched the game and it worked a treat.

I had also just freshly formatted my Operating System prior to installation so i knew their would be no malicious programs causing any errors if they arose (and because I felt Aion being a fresh game, needed a fresh platform to perform from).

Followed the instructions at the beginning of this post and every worked fine until I started to repair. It won't finish because I keep getting error code 58 and error code 57. Please help so I can play in beta on Thursady.

Try doing another repair then do the following:

-Open your NCsoft folder and look for a file named NCApplicationLog, this is a log similar to a debug that is generated by the launcher. Copy and paste the text in the log file in here. Make sure you choose the latest log created.

By default the latest log is the one without a number.
