Mechanics that bother me a bit... Rate Topic: -----

1. Will they add in left click camera pan that locks the camera wherever i stop it not just 180 back and forth or Having to hold the key?
2. Will they add click a random spot and deselect your target?
3. If your character is facing looking at you and your camera is looking behind him and you hit backwards why the hell does he turn around Then walk backwards? It should be relative to where hes standing .... this isnt Nintendo.
4. Why cant i enable enemy health bars?
5. Why cant i turn off auto self cast for healing? I do NOT want to HAVE to target the person im buffing and healing.
6. Why do i have to completely finish my graphic before i can move on any toon?
7. Why does the Global Cooldown start after the spell's or action's graphic was completed?

These 7 things make the game seem extremely clunky and severely lacking. They give the game the feel of a rough draft and no where near a finished product. Purposely creating a non-fluid play-style to equalize character play and over emphasize movement graphics is a critical failure.

You can say, if you dont like it dont play it. I dont really care about those comments.
Even old old old old games had better movement than AION does. Overall, the ideas, layout, graphics, and nearly everything are very well done. Anything has room for improvement. I understand some things will be different when the game goes live - 1.0vs1.5. But this is the beta; we're SUPPOSED to be critical of the game and every aspect of it. Don't cry that people are talking bad about your "god-sent" game. Its a great game it just Needs to be polished with more than 100grit sandpaper.

Anyway, I already answered in the other thread.

Edit: Probably fits better here actually. Gonna put my answers here too:

1. They're adding leftclick panning. If it snaps back or not I dont know.
2. I have no idea. Its not needed imo
3. Because the rightclick camera also turns your character. When you're standing still the char just doesn't turn till you move. I really dont mind this.
4. I have no idea
5. Wait what? You're expecting the game to just know who you wanna heal if you dont have a target?
6. Read the thread about it in this very forum. The "graphic" is the GCD
7. See 6.

Its apparantly on the test server currently, so it should be.

the most of you forgot that this game has a very good click to move control, thats the reason why you cant use the left mouse button to move the camera.

For me im playing mostly with click to move, so im happy the way it is.

Well, you're also fine with stopping everytime you use an instant cast?

as I templar that doesnt bother me very much, cause i have only one till lvl 20, so lets see. And im coming from L2 where instant cast doesnt exist, so im used to klick again after i used a spell.

So.. you're saying having casting animations is roleplaying?

Hi, you're playing an angelic/demonic godlike being that casts magic spells. THIS IS A ROLEPLAYING GAME.

If you don't like the system, that is fine, a lot of people don't, a lot of people do. Doesn't make it terrible.

Yeah I know, so far the only person on the other side of the argument to ever post something worth while is Logan. Everyone else just rages and gets all angry, using subjective opinions to deny people the right to "enjoy" something.

In quite a few MMO's when you bind the cast to the key you can then select the player you wish to use this buff/healing ability onto. (e.g. binded key "6" = healing spell.. you then use your mouse to click the icon of the player to heal.) To be honset i can't believe they haven't even added that in :)

I doubt he's asking to game to magicly choose for him. This way of healing is much faster and more efficent especialy if the raid damage is heavy.

I see. I dont see how it somehow takes more time to select the target first though. You might lose 0.1 seconds or something.

Being able to say target an opposing healer or an opposing NPC to watch cast bars instead of targeting the person your healing. Is there focus frames upcoming? If not that would be another great thing to add.

Its like having the addon Clique or click whatever the spellin is without having the addon. Many games have this built in. You can queue up a heal by pushing the button then left click the profile without targeting them and cast the heal.

I played a cleric to uhh 18 and a glad to 20 and many other toons to 10-11. The Gladiator is def the most Fluid of the classes i played imo. The cleric isnt bad either esp when the servers arent lagged to hell. Just the entire targeting system in the game is pretty bad and clunky.

oh yea ... forgot to mention another weak point ... energy vs mana .... energy can be much more regulated by regen frequency and total energy obtainable. Mana is a thing of the past .. maybe it works ok on the top end but likely inferior to the energy system.

haha... i guess i've been slacking... this is my own thread and i haven't even posted since the first page...

so lets recap...

1. left mouse button to control camera movement.... Fixed!

2. option to turn off the automatic button swapping during chain attacks.... Fixed!

3. Auto attack acting real weird and inconsistent.... possibly Fixed!?!? (i think i read somewhere else that this was fixed in later patches, but i guess we won't know for sure until release.)

4. invisible walls... NOT fixed :( ... still there, but i understand that it would probably be a pain in the *** to get rid of all the invisible walls... not a game-breaker.

5. residual animations and the "GDC".... also NOT fixed... but this is more a matter of personal taste... and after playing more this past beta weekend i actually don't mind this system all that much... then again i was playing melee characters all weekend so didn't really have to worry much about it... i'd still prefer it differently, but i understand why they've done it this way and can respect their decision... and it's still fun regardless :)


so my top 3 issues were solved... and the rest probably won't be changing anytime soon, but i can live with them... overall i'm pretty happy.

From what I've heard 1.2 fixed the Auto Attack bug, I wish they'd let us Beta test 1.2 and not 1.0 >.<

1.0 is so barebones, lol.

Invisible walls are annoying, but I've yet to play a game that doesn't have them somewhere, I do agree that Aion has um.. a bit too many. >.< So many places I've wanted to fly to but cant. :P

yeah.. i'm one of those that likes to explore every nook and cranny and try to climb/jump on stuff you probably shouldn't try to climb/jump on... so hitting an invisible wall yet seeing some rocks just a few feet further that i could jump around on kinda drives me crazy lol.

and i really don't see the point in giving us 1.0 either... it's already been beta tested to death... give us the latest build... it's not like the localization process has anything to do with patch versions.

Oh, theres places you can get past the invisible walls ;) and the gliding .. is like having slow fall on every toon, makes exploring that much easier lol

Well, I guess if you can do it without targeting the person, it makes it a bit more useful. The only mmo i've pvp'ed extensively in is GW, and there we dont have all sorts of artificial targeting help like focus frames and mouseover macros.
No in GW we had to actually look at the players to see when they were using certain skills, and had to target everyone when we wanted to heal them.

Anywa, are you sure this function isn't already ingame? I vaguely remember being annoyed by not casting on myself automatically and turning autoselfcast on.
