i am considering quiting worldofwarcraft to play this game because wow is getting boreing and this looks pretty amazing but whats the point of this game is it like wow in the aspect of raiding(dungeons) and pvp or is it kinda like warhammer where its main aspect is on pvp i would like to know so i can figure out ahead of time if i want to quit wow to play this game.

also i just found out about this game today and was wondering if any of u who have been in the beta could tell me what its like compared to wow like what are the graphics like and what some of the classes focuses are so that i can get an insight on the game.

also whats the max lvl????

I think there is enough info and discussion around this forum already regarding the play style and people's reactions after the Beta. Personally I think it's a fantastic game, so I will certainly be retiring my other MMO's to focus on Aion when it arrives.

There are certainly other PvE related things to get on with when you level up in Aion (instanced Dungeons for example), however to get your paws on the really elite gear you will need to engage in a bit of PvP in the Abyss to get the points you need.

I believe the max level in Aion is 50.

The max level is currently level 50.

It focuses on PvP in the end-game but there's also raids/instances and they will be added in future patches as well.
Graphics are a billion times better than WoW's cartoon graphics.
For more info about classes you can check out the wiki to see their skills etc.

Lani Blazier the CM said yesterday that players can focus on PvE (instanced Raids like WoW), so obviously they're putting a lot of effort into that, but don't expect it all to be there at launch. Patch 1.3 will really open that type of gameplay up.

The Raid gear is amazing from what we've seen so far, and the stats are just a little bit higher than the crafted gear (which is amazing at it's highest level too).

For PvP and PvPvE you'll want to work on your Abyss set which has stats focused towards PvP and gives bonuses against other players and not against NPCs.

It's a full faction based MMO, a lot of players think that AION is going to be a sandbox PvP focused game, but the developers are saying otherwise. AION will be a big expansive world that caters to all types of players, I think that's why it's really going to be successful.
Quit. Next seen in TERA GW2 40k MMO

I've never being so excited about an MMORPG before and that's when you know it's going to be something special, I myself play wow 3 lvl 80's 1 of which is ulduar geared farmed the hell out of end game content, achieved realm first achievements being currently best guild on the server. Yet i am without thinking about it, Going to cancel my WoW account as soon as aion is released, I've spent quite some time researching into people views on the game, looked at countless ingame videos, read tons of articles and each time it makes me like the game even more. All i can say is if theres goign to be a wow killer it looks like Aion is going to be it!.

Haven't Blizzard already closed all their Mainland China servers anyway? I'm sure I read that somewhere.

Edited to add: Yes I did read that here so I wasn't loosing my mind. The servers in Mainland China have all closed due to a contract thingie. New servers are due to open up again later this month....but what do you think those annoyed players are going to do? Start their entire WoW career over again when the new servers launch and replay a game they have already played for years? Or start something new and play Aion, the hottest new MMO on the market?

I think the term "WoW killer" is right on the money when it comes to Mainland China...

As far as I know someone else is going to handle the servers there and they will only be offline for a few weeks.

I updated my post to add a few more thoughts after I found the link. Just my humble opinion of course :)

After a couple of months break from WoW, I am ready to start playing an MMO again. One thing that frustrated me with WoW was that it's end game content was raids raids and more raids. I personally prefer pvp, and arena in WoW is just plain broken. I'm so excited for Aion because it has more pvp to it than pve. It looks fantastic.

Agreed, and what frustrated me more was that I never get to raid because most guilds raid on wednesday/thursday, right after the reset. I have to work then so they would never accept me in their guild, lol. I'd do PvP but WG is so predictable, there's no fun in it and the BGs are also kinda boring.

For me personally, the whole "awe" of WoW is gone and I'm looking forward to Aion.

Don't take me wrong, WoW is an awesome game, but it's just somehow not as rewarding as it once was. I'm also not very fond of the policy of closing up PvP into arenas (and 2v2 arena players can't get the newest gear any more either) and giving out high tier gear for badges every new patch.

I'm hoping Aion will bring some feeling of novelty and challenge. Something I've been missing in WoW for a while. If it will succeed is yet to be seen. :)

I totally agree with you on that. WoW was and is a nice game, and it remains very popular, but raiding being on times i wouldn't be on, pvp only in the same situation each time ( battlegrounds, O_o) and the fact that the world was known to its core, slowly made the beauty of the game dissapear for me. A fresh start in a game wil be interesting.

If I'm taking you to mean what I think you mean (lol - sorry to sound vague) then I agree. I tire of playing games where everything everywhere has been done a thousand times before. It's such an anti stimulant to have people say "You have to do [x] this way with [y] team because we know that's what works." There's no discovery involved, no thinking, just mindless playing. Sadly most games become that way after a while, so I'm really looking forward to a fresh start :)

I used to play WoW, a few months ago. Then my college work picked up, and my girlfriend was whining... Short story; I just didn't have time. Now, however, I am free for 3 months, and more time afterwads while I'm at uni... MMORPG time I think. WoW lost its zest towards the end of the time in which I played it. Obviously, I can't comment as I didn't play WoW till end-game, and I haven't yet played Aion, but in my opinion, Aion appears to be the better game. I like the graphics more at any rate lol.

Same with my friend.
Well he didn't go as far as cancelling his account but he used to be like : Yea whatever, it'll be some WoW clone...
I gave him a beta key so he could check it out and now he's gonna play as well.

everyone always forgets the most important thing. NCSoft knows PvP better than any developer.

AION hands down. I have played WoW since it came out, and I'm sorry to say no matter how many patches, updates and expansions, the game is still the same. Sure they added some new and fun things, DeathKnights, Tournaments, and new raid bosses etc...but it's such and endless annoying cycle.

1. Level up
2. Run Dungeons to get better gear
3. Run better dungeons to get better gear to run better dungeons to get better gear..

2 weeks later, your gear you busted your hump for = outdated...

Rinse, Repeat.

YAwn.

Let's not even go into the horrifically childish graphics of that game. Granted they are pretty nice graphics, but they are very juvenile. Aion, has AMAZING graphics, and concepts you wont find in wow.

Not to mention the fact that everyone and their dog plays wow, it's so over saturated now. I just think this game is a new refreshing MMO.

And let's be honest, yes there will likely be some similarities to WoW, as WoW was a great MMO having plenty of great things to offer and if it's not broken don't fix it. But I think MMOs need to evolve again and I feel that Aion is the evolved MMO.

I wish you luck in your decision and just remember, play what you will have more fun playing. A game is meant to relax you and pass time... Don't take it too seriously. HAVE FUN!
