So i wrote this little guide originally for my Warhammer Online guild... but because the game was such crap when it launched most of my buddies weren't even able to play because of performance issues... so the guild never really went anywhere... so i figure why not share it with the Aionsource community :)

- please remember this is written as a guild leader's advice to his guildmembers.. so some of the language might seem a little weird taken out of this context... but i'm too lazy to change it right now.

hopefully this jpeg shows up and is readable... if it's too small just click the bar at the top of the image to make it full size.

suggestions and comments are always welcome!!

Very nicely done, I use a similar setup myself. :)

However, never forget about binding abilities to a 5-button mouse (+n*5 according to how many modifiers you choose; I usually use only shift)! I don't know if it's possible to bind abilities to mouse-buttons in Aion, but if it is, it's a very useful thing to do.

Excellent advice, similar to what I do. Tab targetting is my mddle mouse button, and one of the thumb buttons is PTT for Vent. (Logitech G9)

WASD > ESDF :p

Just kidding, if you got big hands and it's more comfortable, good way to do it.

Hey this is a pretty nice keybinding tutorial (and I've seen my fair share of keybinding tutorials, ha).

Mouse keybinds are definitely possible on a 5 button mouse :D Actually I strongly recommend keeping ventrilo bound to a mouse button, since it gives you the option to quickly speak if necessary regardless of whether you're moving, using abilities, etc.

And yea, WASD vs ESDF depends largely on hand size and how many modifier keys you like to use (I personally use CTRL, SHIFT, and CAPSLOCK so I don't like straying to ESDF).

Nice guide.
I'm gonna change a few of my keybinds after reading this.
I'ld like to add that WASD seems better than ESDF since R & F are default settings for rise and fall while wings are deployed/flying.
Ofc if you don't wanna bind them somewhere else :)

Bump

Very cool guide, man. I hope lots and lots of people view this.

Some people just don't understand that what seperates a good player from a bad player is keybindings and mouse-turning.

PS

People, use your own variations. Find what's comfortable and works best for you. If it's too much, just start out with some simple key-bindings to get a feel for it before adding the rest.

haha.. i tried an n52e about a year ago... i just didn't like controlling movement with the d-pad... and also it didn't stick to my desk very well and would slowly slide across the desk as i played (because of the pressure my thumb had to apply to the d-pad to move), then i'd end up with my wrist in a very akward position and have to reset it every 10 minutes or so lol.

i could have used the regular keys for movement and the d-pad for abilities... but that just seemed to defeat the purpose of having a nostromo in the first place.

Really nice guide actually. My binds are almost identical + or - a few things. Coming from playing a Warlock in WoW arena in a very competitive environment, I've been using around 50+ binds for quite awhile now, and this is almost exactly how. I go so far as to use 6, y, h, b as well + shift modifiers on all of them. (these are of course things that are used even LESS frequently, but still were necessary for my warlock binds) I also use W and R as my strafe keys instead of S and F, but that's just preference really and what I've become accustomed to. On top of that I use a very few control modifiers as well, but only for seldom used things like buffs and such.
