Scary big red writing: Read first post fully before replying.

Today i had my arse handed to me in PvP, i did not complain infact i laughed about it.

I suggest you all do the same because you should all know what your signing up to when picking to play a Templar.

Im only at level 20 so i don't know later PvP but i think we get some decent abilitys later (The pull) so just hold out for that and remember we play support more than assault.

I know alot of people always come and say "I don't have any problems in PvP" but honestly i don't except against higher levels and obviously getting ganked (which sometimes still takes em awhile), Clerics, and sometimes Sorcerers if they catch me first.

Once you get to a higher level 25+ you'll start to see better results with the right manastone build. Just be patient and don't give up because 30+ you'll be kicking butt solo and group... once again depending on your build. ;)

However we do shine more in group PvP. Even with the failure rate of Stunning Strike your group will love you for it. We are also really good for giving that "Brick Wall" feeling to the enemy while in mass PvP :)

In my opinion, Templars are one the weakest class at level 20 (along with the Ranger and Assassin), you just don't have your critical skills. Templars really start shining around the high 30's when they get their stigmas, skills, and equipment.

what did you expect in rolling a tank class? It's not for everybody; you really have to love what you're doing to enjoy playing a templar.

These guys didn't read my post.

I said i knew what i signed up for and they aren't gonna be the most powerful in PvP so i laughed when i got slaughtered.

I love playing Templar, its a great class to play if you have the right mindset and i have that tanking mindset.

Id go as far as saying Templars are the best tank class in any game ive ever played.

Accualty Templars are one of the best late game PvP solo and group classes, being able to pull enemies and endure a lot of punishment you can take pretty much any class head on.
you can become immune to moviment rescritment spells which is an amazing skill, very nice stuns, and consistent damage.
People who are playng on Caion are even sayng that Templars are the #1 class on the Nerf list

yes you dont dish out much damage, but Templars are an pretty solid PvP class, just read around this forums, the only down side is that its expensive to remain competitive trough out all Levels since you need a full crit build, but still
i will probly play a templar and i dont excpect to stomp everyone i come across, i just want to be able to outlast my oponnent, and help out my groups in ganks.

It's been said in other threads but I'll mention it here too for those that are curious about templars for PvP.

Templars at end-game have:

-a couple pull skills that slow the targets
-they can get an AoE fear that slows targets
-they have massive defense and good magic defense with high health
-they can absorb damage for their party members
-they can paralyze targets on chance on hit with an enchant
-they get a run speed buff
-they can reduce damage they take from players specifically
-they get a skill that does massive damage on fortress doors specifically
-they can get skills that remove and/or reduce the chances of being crowd controlled
-they get debuffs and one that can knock people out of stealth if they're too close when it's used
-they get some heals that have long cool downs

I think that's about it unless someone wants to add to my wall of text.

i would just add extendeble weapons, since it should be an awsome anti-kiting tool, since you comented on the paralysis godstone i think that should be included aswell

Non stop leveling from 13->max level
(self absorb shield + self heal every 3 min is more than enough on even lvl mobs or +1/-1).
Unless you need to sleep ... :)

Until your crit reaches 400 you're a garbage pvp class, simple as that. Oh and even at 400 clerics will steal eat you alive, so just an fyi. But until lvl 25-30 and 400 crit, welcome to the world of mediocrity. Oh on the NA servers, you won't see 400 crit ti'll 40 i suspect. Simply won't be +12-15 crit stones around. So, on the NA servers, we'll all enjoy being a garbage pk class for 40 lvl's.

Took part in a castle siege yesterday. So to give you all a perspective on castle sieges, mass pvp to the max. Was defending, upper abyss. Now castle sieges as a templar, in defense, involves this:

Whenever pull is up, pull one to your group so dps can steamroll them. Then wait for cooldown to do again.

If you try and fly out there to slap someone, you instantly have 50 people target you and you will die. Nothing is going to save you against that. Now i saw some lvl 45 templars use our AoE pull while asmo's were fighting the dragon at the front of the castle. With some Focused firying we dropped a solid 20 people because of that 1 aoe pull, but it's on a ridiculously long Cooldown so you won't be doing that often.

So outside the castle, it was rather boring honestly. You watch the sorc's and rangers just blasting away, while us melee classes are pretty much the victims of it. Ranged classes own outside castle sieges. Once the battle went inside, different story. No more running, no more flying away. Narrow corridors, but a massive zerg. They send there melee forward, we send ours. We smash against each other and battles on while sorc's nuke the middle. Now you might think, let me run right through the middle and head for there sorcs, bad idea. This means your cut off from your clerics and will die within seconds when 30 sorcs focus fire on you.

So whoever wins this middle battle then pushes onto there back row of sorcs, rangers and clerics. At this point they are finished. Now a great thing to do is save your AoE pull for this battle, pull there backrow to the middle and obliterate. I see why it's on a long cooldown honestly, as 1 solid pull can mean the death of dozens of people.

So outside the fort, boring, rather useless 1 trick pony. Inside the fort, a lot of fun actually. Still, the fun sorc's seem to be having will surpass our fun by far. They don't have a place where they suck or dont do anything.

Now for castle offense, templars and glads lead the charge. We beat on the doors to bring them down, we push down the middle once we're in, we tank the mobs and castle defenders. So a lot more to do on offense. Also, we get eaten by the dozens and dozens of sorcs sitting on the castle walls raining down holy hell on top of our heads while we beat on the doors.

So to sumarize, bring a dedicated cleric to heal you or you'll spend most of your time respawning.

Every class does. Game is not balanced around "lvl" 36 pvp ^_^.

Even then it's not balanced. Game isn't really balanced for pvp ti'll 50 if you ask me. Everyone has everything then, and it comes down to equipment and skill. A 45 templar will still lose to a 45 Cleric. It's just the way it is, so clearly not balanced.
