If you've been trolling the forums recently, you may have noticed
this thread. It started off with AionSource.com regular
Disturbing suggesting quite an interesting idea and quickly turned into a discussion on how to best implement said idea after user
knight16 pulled a great domain name out of a hat. Needless to say, the rest will soon be history as Disturbing,
vbchic, a non-AionSource.com member (DJ), and I are pleased to announce AionTube and AionCast.com, a two-pronged joint venture which will (hopefully) benefit the AION fan community greatly. How so, you ask?
Currently, the Aion fan community has no place to turn to for dedicated Aion video hosting. No place to upload montages or walkthroughs or trailers. Most use YouTube. Why not have our own YouTube for Aion, run by Aion fans? That was the logic behind AionTube.com, as simple as it may seem. As for AionCast.com, that's a much more complicated effort spanning shoutCast, Ventrillo/TeamSpeak, and blog systems which will most likely not be ready for traffic as soon as AionTube. Disturbing was asked to comment on these recent developments and this is what he offered:

I am proud to be in partnership with Mark and my fellow friend, DJ, in bringing AionCast and AionTube together. We hope to get the design for both sites finished and get a server that we can use until we start getting hits on the site. The more people that use our site for watching videos, reading to blogs, or listening to podcasts will allow us to generate revenue to buy a stronger and better dedicated server. This will benefit the community by allowing us to host shoutcast server(s) with volunteer DJ’s and live podcasts throughout the week, teamspeak server(s), and overall, being able to do anything and everything possible on the web if it’s requested. If anyone has any ideas or comments please feel free to e-mail myself @
joseph@hypersven.com or Mark.
I'd like to stress that AionTube and AionCast.com are group efforts and not something I alone am creating. Many people, some of which you AionSource.com members may have never met, will have a hand in the creation of AionTube and AionCast.com, but Aion fans will always be our target audience. We'll do our best for you. Let us know what you think. If you have any profound ideas, we'll be glad to hear them!
