Important: How you get into the abyss!

For those who've played other versions of Aion this is trivial knowledge. It only matters because many view CB4 as primarily a chance to experience the abyss for the first time, so it would be somewhat counterproductive for them to be stomped by the abyss entry quest and spend hours trying to do it, given the limited time frame.
Once you reach lv25, IIRC, the abyss entry mission opens up automatically. You're given a choice of three tasks to perform. Unless they REALLY "Westernized" it, the easiest task to do is the one that sends you to the capital city's arena. The other two choices are harder or at least more time-consuming, including one that involves rifting into enemy territory. Even after you've chosen the task you can abandon it and pick another one.
BTW after you finally get there, take the time to go through the tutorial mission about the abyss.
An interesting thought: would it be fun to be a bastard and keep PKing those trying to do the arena task? I've never seen it happen but who knows.

A lot of people will fail their abyss quest the first time around. A LOT of people will QQ about it no doubt. Still, unless they have changed it drastically then it's going to be a beast to complete for some people. Another thing I would recommend is to buff your flight time as much as possible via whatever gear you can get and pots and scrolls etc. It is VERY useful in the abyss and the abyss quest.
Getting to the abyss isn't all lollipops and sunshine, they actually make you work a little for it. I find this rather unique, albeit frustrating if you keep failing :p. At least you know that when you get out there, you didn't just cheese your way there.

Ok I didn't realise you could change your quest!! I thought it was referring to the abandoning of it on the quests window which it didn't allow but you actually have to return to the NPC and change the quest yourself...So to any that have chosen the third quest to do with the helmet and have found it rather difficult then change quests if you wish...Hope this helps people in the same position as me :)

What? Did I miss something? I ran around in Pandemonium a bit and talked to people, went into a solo instance and killed some mobs with hardly any hp and then flew through some rings. It was easy. So long as you choose the arena option and pay attention to the markings on each ring and watch the cutscene its actually pretty cake.

I agree that it isn't that hard. I just took the wrong quest and I wasn't very good with the rings tehe. I pretty much did everything wrong that Kawaii mentioned :sigh: but other than that it was easy

Its pretty easy though once you figure out where they're all at ^_^
and its true any other option beside the arena is a pita unless you are wanting to run around a lot or do an infiltration quest.

Umm I don't really want to say how many times I failed.....:...:The third ring was confusing I kept getting lost since the ring was way down to my right so I ended up drawing a map of where they all were tehe
