AionSource is 3 years young today! - AionSource.com - Powered by the Tower of Eternity

For those who don't pay attention to the little ticker at the bottom of the site, there was quite the milestone today. AionSource is 3 years old (after its initial death and rebirth way back when, of course).

There's lots to be said on a day like this. First of all, I think it's very appropriate to thank Mark for starting this gathering place for Aion fans around the world. While he's moved onto other things, AionSource remains a great creation and we will do our best to keep it's standing as the #1 English-speaking Official Fansite. Thanks, Mark!

The Past:
I've been a daily visitor of this site since February of 2007 and we've gone through a lot together. I remember back to the ooh's and aah's at each new screenshot or concept art revealed. All the excitment when the first official Poster was released finally revealing what the Asmodians were to look like. And finally the coverage and influx of videos from the Korean beta as we all waited patiently to be able to play it ourselves.

The Present:
At long last, we've got a release date, pre-order info, beta- it's finally all coming together and this trip will soon be worth it's length. AionSource has more traffic than ever, pulling in over 200,000 unique visits per month, globally and 35,000 registered users. AionArmory is also live and will continue to become a more powerful tool for all your Aion needs as we get closer to launch and beyond.

The Future:
This is THE big year for Western Aion fans. Closed beta will be wrapping up in August with an Open Beta still planned before launch.

Aion is also being showcased at various events around the United States. The convention buzz has started with E3 and Comic-Con and will continue to this year's premiere convention, The Penny Arcade Expo. AionSource will be there to cover the convention and Official Aion Launch Party in the Seattle Space Needle! Look for the coverage this September!

Oh, and there's also another little thing in September called Launch. Aion will launch for Western audiences in September, 2009 with it's latest version, 1.5, slated to be ready to go on day one.

Looking back, these last 3 years seem much shorter than they sound. It's been a great ride so far and I can't wait to be in-game with you all after launch. I know the betas have been a great experience thus far. There are good times in our future but still plenty of news to come as we work towards the big day, so remember to keep checking back.

We've got a small present for the Aion community as well, but it might not be ready for another day or so. Keep an eye on the news for a nice addition to the Armory. ;)
